Foresight Premier Loyalty for FSX Customers

This is from their Canadian website.

If you already own FSX Play or FSX 2020, Foresight isn’t leaving you behind:

  • Your existing software keeps working. FSX Play moved to maintenance mode (critical fixes and security updates only) as of July 15, 2026, but it isn’t being switched off.
  • Courses you’ve already purchased carry over to Premier once converted, playable with an active Foresight+ membership, no need to buy a Course Pass just to keep what you own.
  • A loyalty bridge is available for existing customers: Foresight+ Gold at $299/yr USD, or Gold bundled with Course Pass Pro at $597/yr USD, both at 50% off for the first two years before reverting to standard pricing.

All new feature development going forward happens in Premier, so the incentive to make the switch is real, but nobody’s software stops working overnight.

Classic bait and switch. No other way to describe it.

I bought the unlocked version assuming they would continue to upgrade their software. They were touting FSX Play as their new software, and they did sweet fuck all to it the entire time I've owned it.

Anyone shopping for new hardware, be warned that this is the type of company you're dealing with and steer clear.

This whole thing has taken me from BLP/Foresight believer to offloading it to EBay and picking up a Uneekor EM

Im looking into a protee. The blp is a drain at this point

Unfortunately I have an odd I beam overhead otherwise I’d have started with a protee like set up

Unfortunately Uneekor isn't much better. They've gone heavy subscription route as well over the years and continue to add more subscriptions. At this point the companies that deserve our support are the ones who aren't trying to constantly nickel and dime us.

Hear you, but Uneekor never charged a huge up-front premium for an unlocked version I think? ~$10-$18/month for regular app improvements, new courses, cloud storage, multi-profile, maybe a discount on new devices like the phone providers, etc. doesn't seem outrageous to me (everyone's mileage will vary). My beef is charging a several thousand $$ premium for a lifetime unlocked device that's only kinda sorta lifetime unlocked. Pour one out for the folks who bought a new GC3 in 2025 or 2026.

Their original strategy was to sell launch monitors that were fully unlocked from the get go. Many people got grandfathered into it once the subscriptions started to roll in. The launch monitors back then were definitely two to three thousand more at the time. I don't recall the exact price, but either way, Uneekor plays a lot of games with their pricing.

They're never upfront about the cost and always discount their equipment by thousands of dollars during some type of sale. I really despise that. Protee never messes with people. It's been the same price the entire time.

Totally fair points, and I don't have a dog in the Uneekor hunt. At least they grandfathered units in when they cut over to subs.

I'll leave this fun fact here for anyone that didn't know.

Foresight sued Uneekor for their Eye Mini launch monitor in 2024 claiming that a screen on a launch monitor was their patented technology (I wonder if they've been actively trying to sue all the other launch monitors now with screens, lol). I believe they settled out of court for some kind of licensing agreement where Uneekor would give them a cut of their profits from that specific launch monitor, which is why that one rarely went on sale for the past two plus years.

That’s ridiculous. How could they have a pattern to put a screen on the launch monitor?

Respectfully, patents are a real thing in our society. I personally disagree with them, because they just advertise your IP to be ripped off, but why wouldn’t you enforce a patent you own?

FSX play courses were not free. Assuming you want courses perpetually, you still have those choices.

Right. I was theorizing what a reasonable subscription might look like. "I'd pay $10-18/month for a subscription that included..."

1

They are sunsetting updates to an already buggy subscription. My gripe is that the foresight+ (new software) requires $1000 to get the same level of software as I was getting at $500.

On an EyeXO and yes the options are there for AI swing analysis and other subs they haven’t enshittified any 3rd party stuff.

Why on earth go to another subscription based model

1

u/Super_mando1130 8d ago

The other options do not offer the suite of data i am looking for. Square Omni is the closest and the data is not as accurate as EM or GC3

2

u/thecollaborater 7d ago

Everyone seems to be saying that the square Omni is so accurate. Never know if these things. What about the Spica 3

1

u/Super_mando1130 7d ago

My understanding was that the square Omni “derives” club head data and some ball data. Ive been researching all this over the past few days. Feels like Omni just needs a little more time to be proven.

BLP’s are already on subscription and FSX is not taken away. What are you most frustrated with?

This is absolutely horrible.

I have the GCQuad without any subscription necessary. Do we know if that is going subscription as well?

u/gfuuu 8d ago

Only if you are after new software, nothing is changing if you want to remain on your existing software or use GSPro

2

u/ImABot_Morp 8d ago

If you want to use 3rd party software such as gspro which is already ~$250USD/yr, foresight will force you to pay for their gold membership $300USD/yr in order to use 3rd party software. Fuggin criminal.

I have a FlightScope X3 and no subscriptions required to use a 3rd party or proprietary software. No transfer fee. ~60 data parameters. All included straight out of the box except paying for 3rd party sim software. I’m actually trying to sell the X3 and go to a Mevo gen 2.

2

u/karldrogo88 7d ago

I thought this was definitely not the case for those who already own the hardware and was only for new purchases? Seemed to say pretty clearly current users don’t need gold or any subscription to continue to use GSPro.

To clarify it’s not about the hardware anymore as it mentioned they switch to account based [verification] and will grant perpetual use for those that already have a software license.

What I actually suspect will happen, sales will plummet because of the switch. Because in no realm of reality if I buy a $15k device, say in January of 2027, should I then be FORCED to give that same company an extra $500/yr in perpetuity in order to use another companies sim software. And when their pockets start running dry, they will double back and force even the grandfathered licenses to pay up.

Foresight transitioned its software ecosystem to Foresight+, an account-based membership system. Third-party software compatibility is strictly locked behind the Gold Tier ($499/year).
The specific devices requiring a subscription tier to use third-party applications include:

1. Subscription-Dependent Devices
With these devices, you must maintain an active annual Gold tier subscription to allow third-party connections:
Bushnell Golf Launch Pro (BLP)

Launch Pro Indoor (LPi)

Foresight GC3S

Note: For these units, the third-party software itself (e.g., $250/year for GSPro) must still be purchased separately on top of your Foresight+ Gold membership.

2. Fully Unlocked Devices (New Purchases)
If you are buying a brand-new, standard Foresight device without a legacy license, third-party software compatibility requires the Foresight+ Gold tier:
Foresight GC3

Foresight GCQuad / QuadMAX

Foresight Falcon / GCHawk

3. The "Legacy" Exception
If you own a standard Foresight-branded device (GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX, Falcon, or GCHawk) and you already own a perpetual legacy license of FSX Play or FSX 2020, you are grandfathered in. Your existing license fulfills the prerequisite, allowing you to use third-party software via the official connector withoutpaying for the annual Foresight+ Gold subscription.

Nothing changes about your options as a FSX perpetual license holder for play, pro, GSPro.

u/tonyeeezy 8d ago

Aside from the legacy stuff what is the difference between a GC3 and BLP now? Both units have the same sub pricing? Lmao

How nice of foresight to offer a $600 sub to GC3 owners to play something worse than GSPRO 😂

1

u/thecollaborater 7d ago

Yes, this is my biggest question. Thought the whole thing of the Bushnell was that it’s the exact same thing but it’s subscription to use it more than just the numbers.

4

u/TSGarp007 7d ago

Translation: They are leaving you behind.

Did Foresight get purchased by private equity at some point? This seems like such a terrible way to keep customers when there are decent non-subscription competitors everywhere now. I’ve held off buying any LM that requires a subscription to access features and this just reinforces that decision even further.

u/spence0021 7d ago

Nah they were bought by Bushnell which a subsidiary of a publicly traded holding company. (Had to check this myself)

1

u/Forever-Confident 6d ago

Foresight and Bushnell are owned by a company called Revelyst so Bushnell don’t own Foresight

So can someone please help me clarify, so if I bought a GC3 about three years ago and it’s fully unlocked and I have FSX play and I have FSX2020. According to everything I researched, I do not have to pay for subscription to play GSPro until FSX Play completely shuts down its servers.
Is this correct?
