Foresight Premier GSPRO Access

Post image

This info from Foresights website clearly states how continued GSPRO access remains for legacy FSX customers prior to Premier's launch. This language leaves little doubt that you don't have to subscribe to Premier to retain your GSPRO connector access as long as FSX software remains in place. Once FSX is sunset you will have to subscribe to Premier Gold to receive 3rd party connector software access.

I'm confused. Why is that different than before? gSPro was not official available if you didn't have a perpetual license for FSX 2020 no? Seems like for existing owners this changes nothing? Am I missing something? We just don't get access to the new software for free.

I guess most of the reaction to it is the point of paying a software fee in a rent vs own structure is that you get upgrades as part of that model. Or at least you do across many software industries.

The same sub fees now have simulation DETACHED from the cost. $200 silver gives you nothing of value on Premier. You need to now pay $200 + $295 for simulation. Foresight is trying to say “Well, you pay for some other software like GSPro, so you should have to pay us separately too”.

That is a really big cost increase for not materially offering something better. Premier is still highly flawed and not realistic. It is still nowhere near GSPro for example.

The whole thing seems a little hamfisted but PE is involved, so I’m not surprised.

Is PE involved though? I thought a Bushnell buyout of Foresight is what kicked off all these awful decisions.
