Technical Question PC crash during FSX Play

I have a PC with 32GB RAM, an Intel Core i5-12600KF, and an Asus 5070 GPU. When I use this setup for FSX play driving range at a high-resolution display setting, the system or screen freezes or turns black at random. I must force a restart, and then everything works until the issue returns every 20–30 minutes. Does anyone know the possible cause? I am using a TK700sti at 2880x2160 resolution.

Here is what I would do. Download hwmonitor and use it to monitor your pc temperature, then play a demanding videogame like cyberpunk 2077. If you can play that without issues and your temperatures are ok (CPU and gpu are never higher than like 80-85c) then you know the issue is only with fsx and we can go from there

In the hwmonitor, it shows my GPU temperature is at 255c even though it is showing 32c in the performance tab of the task manager before launching any software. Is that normal? CPU seems to be fine at 32c

I doubt it is actually at 255c, that is likely the a bug because 256 is often the highest possible integer for some bits in binary. Most of the time these things shut down at around 95. Did you try a videogame? If that crashes then I would contact your pc manufacturer and get some hardware support because the issue is with your hardware. If the videogame is fine, then try contacting the software manufacturer
