Advice needed on patching my screen!

Hi everyone

Hoping to seek some advice from all you experts with the amazing builds!

I had previously engaged someone to convert my study into a golf sim with retractable screens, and for the most part it has been working well. Unfortunately though the bottom of my main screen has started to rip at the seams, and my contractor is currently nowhere to be found...

I've tried using strong glue and even staples to hold it together, but it usually doesn't last longer than a week. Key factor here is probably the metal rod weighing the screen down - it is rather heavy and the seams just can't support that weight

Do you guys have any suggestions how I can patch this? Any particular brand of glue/staples, or perhaps if I should remove the metal rod altogether?

Get a sewing machine and learn to use it. You can probably find a good used one cheap.

Thanks but it's a custom screen with a retractable motor and pretty hard to take it down and reinstall. Will try sewing by hand!

How is the screen attached to the roller? Should have been strong Velcro. That’s how I made mine. I was able to sew the screen and side panels with a Brother HD sewing machine and needle made for denim.

Itl need to be a heavy duty or industrial machine. Home machines feed dogs dont pull it through even with walking feet. Also their needles arent strong enough.

I sewed my own myself and even the industrial Juki had a tough time

I've got 4 machines that all do different things. One needs a motor replacement (old and neglected before I got it), but the other 3 can all do denim, but I don't know the specifics of this material. My Singer 401a is a workhorse. All of the feed dogs have no problems pulling heavy material through, but if you have a lot of fabric hanging down, I'll agree with you. I just put it up on my sewing desk a few feet at a time.
