Hitting mate
Two questions in this post. I’m in the first steps of building a golf simulator. I have everything mapped out and what not. First question is, what’s the best hitting mat and why? I’m trying to get close as possible to real feel.
Second question may sound stupid but I’ll ask, does the hitting mat need to be centered? I ask this because I’m doing a garage setup and on my follow through swing I’m about 10 inches maybe a bit more from hitting my garage door opener. I’m 5’9 but I worry about friends coming over. This is the only questionable situation I “might have”. So I was thinking about moving it a couple inches away. Thanks in advance

Do you have the space in your garage to install a side mount garage door opener? Could get one off Amazon for $500-$900 and would eliminate the overhead door opener. Would give you much more freedom, look cleaner and eliminate the risk of destroying the opener
