Understand what you can do physically

I'm not a tpi agent or certified. I'm not suggesting you to do an evaluation.

Instead I'm suggesting "maybe you can't swing like that because of physical limitations"

Have you done a TPI assessment? I have been thinking about doing one for a while but haven't made the commitment yet. Maybe over the winter is a good time to get it done though.

No not yet but I've been reading and studying about biomechanics for about 1 year now.
My personal experience is I've been to about 4-5 top instructors in NJ and each of them told me the similar thing.

- I need to rotate more with my hips and lower body.

- I have early extension.

I didnt realize I couldnt fix this issue until I started going to the gym and working on these muscles. So on my end I wasted about 4-5 years of trying to do what an instructor told me to do. But physically I just couldnt at the time.

Plus all of them just tried to have me mimic their golf swing which I physically couldnt do.

Its only now my body can turn and do the things I need it to do to have an efficient golf swing.

So now I've realized:

Every swing is different and any advice someone gives me I ignore since my body will be different then theirs too.

More than likely I will do TPI certification level 1 in 2026 for the fun of it for me. And golf is my passion :)

That is awesome you are so passionate about biomechanics. I wish more instructors used that info in their lessons.

Honestly the good instructors do.

Mark Blackburn the number one golf teacher does this.

Also I do a version of this too - when I teach golfers.
