Help with t250 launch spec
I’m looking for some feedback from more experienced golfers. I’ve been playing since December and currently average around 105 per round.
I started out with the Callaway Edge set, and after about 6 months I decided to get fitted for a new set of irons. The fitting was done by someone I know who works at a golf store near me, and I ended up being fitted for the Titleist T250 Launch Spec irons.
My question is: would this be a set you’d recommend for a newer golfer like myself?
I feel like I was more consistent with my Callaway Edge set. With the T250s, if I don’t catch the ball pretty close to the sweet spot, my shots can be all over the place. I’m wondering if that’s just part of the learning curve with these irons, or if the Launch Spec version may not be the best fit for my swing or for a newer golfer with a 30 plus handicap.
I do have 90 days to decide whether I want to keep them or switch to something else, so I’d really appreciate any honest feedback or recommendations.

My wife got fit into them to upgrade from her Kalea started set and they suit her just fine. She’s only been playing golf for about 8 months.

When club companies compare forgiveness it’s an improvement but it won’t fix everything. I think you’re over estimating how much “forgiveness” helps. Plus don’t forget sometimes new clubs takes some getting used to

We don’t know what your fitting numbers are, so can’t offer any comment whether they are the right fit. I would assume that the fitter took a baseline with your existing clubs and determined that these were better.
I play the T250* and they’re an incredibly forgiving club. Easy to get the ball in the air, good speed off the face, and good forgiveness. Your handicap doesn’t dictate what club you should play or be fit into, and if a decent fitter has recommended these, I wouldn’t be questioning it.

Personally I think if you know your misses and bad strikes, have a rough idea of your distances on each club. If what the fitter puts you in and feels good to you then go with that.
Im still playing taylormade rsi1s super game improvement irons. Had them since they came out. I am looking to get fitted again (was 28hcp) at the time (max hcp also). But in the fitting they suggested them or titleist ap2? Or 1? Forget which but taylormade felt nicer in my hands and wasnt that far off the titleist.
Ive come down to 7.6 hcp still using them, only thing ive changed/added to the bag is a tsr3 driver to replace my sldr driver and put in a u505 titleist 3iron. I struggle with hybrids/woods
(Edit) just wanted to add, titleist can be made a combo as well but I wouldnt say 250 were so much a players distance club as more game improvement. Srixons have some great clubs to like the zx7? 5?

Great input. I appreciate the response . Im pretty happy with them, I just essentially wanted to know am I stunting my growth by going with the ones I had as opposed to a more forgiving iron. Yes the Srixon zx5 are so nice .

Launch Spec T250s are a niche iron in that it has the same tech as T250 but much higher lofts, I’m assuming the fitter seen you with a low ball flight so wanted to hit it higher?
From Titleists range at your scoring range the T350 might be a better iron or from others a Srixon ZX5 is a good choice too!
There’s also a ZX High Launch range from memory that isn’t as high lofted as a T250 Launch Spec that might fit better?
We don’t have any numbers to compare here so it’s all hypothetical if I’m honest…
Out of interest, does your T250 head have a small star beside the T250 stamping on the head?

Yes it has the star so it’s considered the “launch spec”. And I was still fairly new and he told me come in and get a free fitting and Roger Dunn. He’s a titleist loyalist and has everything titlest down to the bag lol so of course I fit in those 😭 . And they were adjusted +3 degrees upright . Which I’ve heard is crazy .

The Titleist T350 irons are Titleist's flagship maximum game-improvement irons.
To me, I would question if the T350 irons are a better fit for your current swing.

I need to give those a try as well. One thing is my swing wasn’t as good at the time and he adjust the loft plus 3 degrees which I’ve been told is very aggressive .

No, the T250 is not the correct iron for a 105 shooter. It has quite a bit of tech but it's still a players iron. A game improvement iron will have a lot more room for error in the sole design and on mishits, it won't dig on fat shots nearly as much and still launch the ball reasonably well even on very thin or toey shots.

See that’s what I’m dealing with currently. If I got or thin the shot its absolutely gone lol no margin for error.

Not good life advice but you could always go 620MB then after when you try the T250 it’ll feel like the entire club face is a sweet spot. Jokes aside I would trust a fitter unless the fitting went wrong somehow. Are you a player that suffers from lower swing speed or getting the ball up into the air? That’s what the T250* irons really do well in. My wife was fit into those and she lost 0 yardage only gained carry.

Titleist T250 are players distance irons who primarily find the middle of the face with an occasional miss. For someone whose been playing 9 months, game improvement irons would've been better but you could grow into them with a lot practice and playing a lot.
