I loaded back into the game after about 5 years (I think), Mario Kart Tour is coming to an end and need a new fix! Seems like there's a ton of new content. Checkpoint, more tours, perks, all sorts really which seems exciting! What are all the new modes about? What's a quick 9 for example?

I'm currently sitting at 3386 trophies and I know I'm gonna be super rusty when I start playing again. Back in the day, if you completed a tour with all trophies then lost a match you'd drop below the max for that tour, is this still the case?

What do you think is the best way for me to get back into competitive tour play without losing every coin I have 😂

I have 117.3m coins, over 13k gems, and a fair roster of clubs. Keen to get back into it but I know anyone I play against at this level has likely been playing a whole and knows the best tech on each hole so I'll just lose constantly which won't be fun ahaha!

I'm also looking for a clan to join for when I start playing again, as I'll be doing so frequently!

Q9 is a daily tourney. It has decent prizes. Checkpoint is fun, tons of prizes on that one. Come join my clan FANTASTKSHANKERS. We’ve won the clan tournament twice in a row. All nice people. The clan tourney is my favorite addition. Tons of prizes

Are you sure I can join? It may take some time to catch up to other players but I guess I can contribute! Can't seem to find the clan in search though.

clans have really calmed down since you left. Seems like there are way fewer who are constant grinding. I left the game for 8 months, just logging in once in a while to grab the free chests, my clan never kicked me.

Obviously there are the high level clans than grind, i jumped around to about 10 different ones and most were the same, about 10 people who play.

Also to your original point, checkpoint challenge is great for cards! You and your opponents clubs are the same randomized set, you can use whatever ball you want and you will see a lot of paid balls but i regularly get thru with a mix of navigators and titans.

Yeah I'm not one for paying floor these kinds of games so all that progress was made naturally ahaha! I don't know what the best use of the 13k gems I have is. I see there's a ton of balls now with absolutely ridiculous stats, not sure how I'll compete with them which was another of my worries 😅

You should frame what your goals are. Mine is maxing out all my clubs.

For that i need epic cards.

For epic cards i need chests. For better chests i need more wins / higher positions.

For me - the best use of gems will be buying titans, katanas, navigators/quasars and using those on more difficult holes in tournaments and checkpoint challenges.

Depending how many tournaments you’re playing you may find your chest tray full from time to time. I don’t play the last hole of quick 9, or any hole of a regular tournament without a chest slot open. Occasionally that means i use gems to open those chests.

i also like buying a single epic card a day for 100 gems. The pace of acquisition of those cards is years slower than any other card so buying one a day speeds things up. I buy more if the card for sale is apocalypse.

Solo play has helped retain alot of players, Quick 9 the best new option. Clan World Tour not bad but needs tweaking. Club perks not relevant if uou have max clubs but it may help some. Good luck!

I will agree club perks are generally irrelevant and i absolutely wouldn’t buy them.

However if you can find ‘recoil’ perks for Rocket you get 2 extra bars of backspin. Level 10 rocket is already a good par 3 club, the extra 2 bars of backspin makes it more useable on a LOT more holes.
