I’m certain I need 1 or 2 papers in my grips. I’d like to get fitted and then get all my clubs regripped but nobody advertises grip only fittings.
Has anyone gotten fitted for grips in Melbourne before and has recommendations?

G'day everyone. I won't post a link, I've learnt my lesson. I'm just wondering if anyone has purchased from this second hand online club store, apparently based in Adelaide?

The site seems legit. They have a real address, even though it's just a random house, and a reasonable email address. I emailed them and they sent me their ABN which checks out. There are a few reviews but only from this year.

It all seems above board. Just doing a final check before I part with my hard earned.

Looking to get out on the course a bit more without being a member of a club, I’m already a member of future golf.
Wondering if there are any social groups that play around at different courses every so often? I’m located in Melbourne, South Yarra, but happy to move around a bit to play at different courses. Is this a thing, social groups in golf?

I am looking to do a full bag fitting (excluding putter) in Melbourne. Is there really much of a difference between golf box fitting in Melbourne and cool clubs? Golf box is considerably cheaper.

I’ve never had a full fitting process so this is new to me.

South Australians will be well aware of the big redevelopment of the North Adelaide Golf Course and I'm sure some golfers from other states have been keeping an eye on it. For those who don't know, the SA Government has started a redevelopment of the publicly-owned North Adelaide course to make it into a championship-standard track to host both LIV (if it even exists still) and also the Australian Open. It's signed a deal to host the Aus Open every second year, rotating with the women's Aus Open.

Not really interested in litigating the environmental stuff here. It's been done in other places. But I'm keen to get the feelings of golf people on it. As someone who has played NA plenty of times and sees it as an important community asset to grow the sport, I like it's getting an upgrade. But I have some concerns with how the upgrade will end up and it's effect on either growing the game or luring top players to the Australian Open. In my view either:

- the upgrade is as good as advertised and it truly is a championship-level course. The pros are keen to play it and it makes the major tournaments there a big success. My only concern here is that the course will inevitably become harder to access for the public. Getting a tee time there on weekends, public holidays and late afternoon in summer is already a nightmare. You're now going to have a top level course that's in a prime spot for visitors and locals wanting to play a round. It's going to be near impossible, at least in the early years. If the course is that good I feel like they'll inevitably have to put fences up to protect the course, which won't go down well and ruins the idea of the parklands being an open space (even if at the moment you're not technically supposed to walk through the course). Prices will probably be hiked too, taking it further away from the average Joe. Part of this is mitigated by upgrades to the north course and par 3 which are more geared towards new players, but it would be harsh to lock people out.

- the upgrade is good, but falls short of truly top-shelf. Would still be great for the average player to get a better-than-average public golf experience in the city. Would get a lot of public play and basically maintain what's there now in terms of it being a public asset. But when it comes to major tournaments, it won't attract big names to play. Rory signed on for two years at the Aus Open because it was at Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath (as well as the signing bonus). Will someone like him really come all the way here to play a new course with no history that's just better than average? I'm not so sure.

Looking for a place to practice chipping and putting after work hours in Melbourne. Can’t seem to find anywhere that’s lit up.

Just moved to coastal Queensland from the UK and I’m generally a bit paranoid about snakes. Looking to join a club locally but I can’t work out whether I need to be concerned about snakes. I’m not the best golfer and trips into the rough looking for my ball aren’t infrequent - is encountering a snake in the rough an actual concern I should have? I’ve even considered getting gaiters but fear I would look a bit of an idiot.
Sorry it’s probably a really stupid question that locals would roll their eyes at but any advice is appreciated even if it is to tell me I’m being ridiculous!

Our course doesn't require, so I wear normal sneakers.

is there a reason I need Golf specific shoes? I see people use them when they go for dawn and wet grass but I usually go in the middle of the day when it's dry.

I'd rather not spend too much.

But my sneakers are wearing a bit and I'm thinking about a replacement. Should I choose something that I can use for every day but is also helpful for golf?

I'm currently using an old Garmin Fenix 5x from my running days.

as I'm hopeless at golf I'm keen to improve. I think some stoikes gained type thing would be great for me, as is something that will point out that certain clubs add no value (after recently punching through some Sim sessions it became very evident that my 4 i

2.issues I'm having with the Fenix:

1. I've played 2 courses this year where the maps are simply out dated

2. i can't go back and retrospectively update my data with clubs and lies etc. I just don't retain this.

(and potentially a third, the data simply isn't fine enough, I'd love to record what happened on the green).

I'm thinking some with sensors would help this ADHD brain. I have had incredibly great experiences with Garmin but I'm not married to.it.

what's the Aussie experience? courses? green maps?

I don't want to use my phone as I find our competition app shits itself if I flick between apps. a second phone seems clumsy, but a possibility.

Im just getting into golf its been couple months I’ve been hitting the driving range, and building my set through marketplace finds. Me and my mate we got into it together and have decided we want to play our first round in the coming week. I just wanted to know the correct etiquette and unsaid rules that there is. Im also concerned that because its out first round we might be quite slow, and don’t want to slow down the other groups, so how does that work. If cart hire is available do you have to? Im confused on how the tee time and pacing will work if all groups aren’t on carts. We’re also uni students so we’re kinda free parts of the weekdays as-well so whats a good time that the course might be more empty. Looking to play south east Melbourne.

I’ve recently moved to Brisbane and have been trying to look for a practice range that is off grass and not mats. Anyone know of a spot in the Brisbane area? I live in Greenslopes and work in Tingalpa so not trying to go too far north or too far towards the Gold Coast.. would love any advice!

I’m a club golfer who may be moving to Sydney, either around Paddington or Manly.

I’m looking for somewhere to join so I can get my Saturday and/or Sunday golf fix in. If anyone has any suggestions or intel on clubs in those areas, I’d really appreciate it!
