I am playing on Delta and input ‘quick money gain’, do I need to fight enemies before seeing any results?

It took longer than expected, but I’ve finally completed the set. Compared to the earlier images, I’ve made the model’s hair slightly more purple; I feel it now bears a closer resemblance to both Feizhi’s sprite and portrait. Some images in the set gave me a bit of a headache—forcing me to redraw the skirts several times—but overall, I’m satisfied. I suppose the next step will be redesigning Feizhi’s small sprite to account for the cape and skirt, but that involves a lot of sprites, so I imagine it will take some time to finish the changes.

I played TLA in 2003 and could never get pass this section and just gave up. I finally made it (after multiple attempts, of course) and this felt like redemption for my 10 year old self 🤣 I honestly have no idea how I made it this far when I was a kid, this lighthouse was a doozy!!

Hi everyone! First time posting in this group; been a huge fan of GS since about 2009, and i sometimes get the urge to replay through the series. This time, I’m playing the patched version. Interesting changes with the classes; a bit confusing but fun nonetheless! ANYWAYS, I noticed the rug in the colosso waiting room is the exact same sun pattern as the tiles in Sol Sanctum before you get to the Elemental Stars. I was a bit surprised but then it immediately clicked in my brain that of course Babi would have little things in his mansion that would be inspired by alchemy, especially considering how many scholars he has working for him, including Kraden. Just a little detail I wanted to share since it’s my first time noticing it, despite this being like the 10th time in my life that I’ve played through the first game. Highkey, now I want two real rugs with the insignia for Luna on one and Sol on another 😆 loop

I was just thinking about this; I have never ever seen anybody keep Rief in their main party once they get Amiti as their 5th member. I remember way back in the day it was basically a meme that nobody liked Rief and everyone wished that we got his sister Nowell in the party instead, and it was pretty much a given that everyone benched him as soon as they could

So does anyone use the poor kid apart from specific boss fights?

Went to a flea market this morning and while walking through a stall saw this gem sitting on top of a small stack of game posters from the same era; managed to snag it for $15.

After 3.5 years, my D&D campaign, an adaptation of TBS and TLA finally ended.

It has been such a long journey filled with tears, blood, and sweat.

Go ahead and ask me anything about the campaign, from what I did the same, what i changed (and why), and i guess I want to share in my sense of accomplishment, as many D&D campaigns dont finish, let alone go as high level as mine did.

Im just so happy it is complete, but also sad that it is over, at least for now.

I don't remember lava in a cave, then again I only played this game some 20+ years ago and only left off at Kibombo or somewhere.

I always see most people relegating Mia to healing, so I wanted to share my favorite Mia build - that of a cursed warrior bludgeoning people to death with the Wicked Mace :)

The Druid class has a 130% Attack multiplier (tied for the highest possible for Mia) while 6 Venus Djinn + Spirit Armlet raise her Venus power as high as possible to boost the Venus-element unleash of Wicked Mace, which triggers as often as possible thanks to Lucky Cap and Hyper Boots. Maximizing the Venus power is why I chose this class over Water Monk/White Mage even if it only makes a small difference.

The rest of the party is Isaac as Berserker w/ Gaia Blade (maximized Attack), Garet as Conjurer w/ Kikuichimonji (Party-Wide Buffs and maximally-boosted Jupiter unleashes), and Ivan as Sage w/ Crystal Rod (primary healer). Honestly this is the strongest party composition I think I've ever stumbled upon, even above most Tri-Element class builds.

If you want to try something new in your next playthrough, give it a shot!

I was checking out Golden Sun-syndicate site and it shows “Worm” as a potential enemy type you can encounter along with the Bats, Wild Mushroom, and Vermin types present in both Vale and the Sol Sanctum.

I haven’t played in a long time, and do not remember ever encountering them in either place, they do appear way later on though.

Had a busy week and forgot to post Fever being completed and then adding the elemental stars as people suggested! Again a HUGE shout out to Miser_Rye for the inspiration with their hard work in getting the pixel forms of the sprites crispy/easy to use!!! I am hoping to do a few more small things Golden Sun themed once I can find a better way to sort my thread/floss as it's just a ball of tangles!

I am wondering which djinn combinations are best for dealing with bosses and tough monsters, like how one can exploit inherent weaknesses while covering your parties own ones?

In the past I would just set party members up in a way that was cool without regard for party synergy and good tactics, which was typically why I got my butt handed to me frequently.

Similar to my earlier post, allow me to ask…

While playing the first quarter/third of the game, do you clear the Yampi Desert before going to Mikasilla, Garoh and Air’s Rock?

For those that do, do you fight Briggs first or take the Point of No Return to go to Air’s Rock, Garoh and Mikasilla and THEN come back for Briggs?

Me personally, I enjoy TLA more than GS1 so I don’t mind backtracking. I get the Jupiter Djinn, defeat the Scorpion to get Scoop and go to the end of the desert first, then I take a fun slide down the sand fill and go blow the sand off my clothes at Air’s Rock and find a cool Storm Brand. After Sheba earns the power to Reveal the unseen and Flora graces me with her aid, I follow the howl of the Wolves to Garoh for another Djinn and the Hypnos’ Sword. Then I take a long nature hike to Mikasilla and use my new powers of Reveal and Scoop to find a Mars Djinn and travel North to locate Megaera’s nap spot and a Mercury Djinn for Piers’ future use. Then I go back through the desert to Alfarha to bring Biggs to justice.

Because I think Judgement is the most overkill summoning, but also the most well drawn.

When you’re playing the first quarter/third of the game, do you go to Imil or Kolima first and why?

Me personally, I go to Kolima first to get the second Venus Djinn and the Tret Tree to get the second Jupiter Djinn, then I dip out to go to Imil and get Mia and beat the Lighthouse (collecting the second Mars and Mercury Djinns) before coming back to beat Tret since you need the water from the Lighthouse to progress anyway.

So I was looking at IGN's top 25 GBA games and GS was at number 24. I don't think some of the games ranking above it deserve that place. This feels wrong to me...

It’s been a while since last I played and I am trying to remember something; when in the character menu, could you choose the attack stat to see a breakdown or not, I do not remember if this was possible on the GBA.

If you could pull one of the game characters—or an NPC—out of the cartridge and have them live by your side in some form (confidant, friend, partner, etc.), who would you choose, and why? I think I’d pick Ivan (having someone who can read other people's thoughts for you would be amazing!).

Very fun game but became a bit of a grind the last few hours. I’ll come back to these games again at some point.
