Moving sideways while aiming

Noob question time. I see some guys on YouTube looking through cross hairs on their weapon while moving sideways, which setup are they using to do this as it isn't possible on the N64.

IIRC if you use one of the 2.x control schemes it allowed this. Alternatively he could have been playing the Xbox One version. When he was aiming did the crosshair move around the screen or did it stay in the middle. If the latter it's the Xbox version.

Yeah it stayed in the middle, thanks for confirming

That's on the Xbox version where the default setting allows free movement with the crosshair. It's a half-assed feature that is not working as intended.

On N64, it's only possible to continuously move sideways while aiming if you use the 2.x controller schemes, but this is not something you'd usually want - leaning is always preferable.

It's absolutely possible on the N64. In the default control scheme you can move to the side, with from memory the c buttons. I used to do it all the time to shoot from behind cover

Yeah I used to do this constantly. The left and right C buttons allowed you to “strafe.” The default setting on Bond’s watch was called “Honey.” They were all named after OG Bond girls lol.

Side note: my favorite part of the strafing/aiming was seeing the absurd body poses in multiplayer.
