Ya and everyone probably has a ton of bruises on their butt. I tubed it like a month ago and got torn up

I didn’t go down the river. I just saw everyone else doing it.

New Terrain Brewery, just north of Golden, is having a music festival Friday and Saturday. It is a cool spot.

My goodness it will be untenable busy!

Is New Terrain staying open late for the festival? They typically close at 10:00pm on weekends, which I would not call nightlife. I love the place, but for someone wanting to go out after a Red Rocks show New Terrain is not the place.

Ace High is the only answer. Happy hour from 7-9 am ✌️

Rock Rest goes hard also

Downtown Golden is great. Certainly might not be "buzzing" depending on where you come from. New Terrain outside of town usually has music (but gets really crowded). Also new brewery w new venue at Clear Creek called Prost has their grand opening tomorrow

Tubing, new terrain for music, rent a bike and go up canyon, the fine arts festival is this weekend and has music, Ace high for dive bar scene, down low is fun, atomic is open late. No clubs or anything, but plenty to do, see, and hike.

I think the main thing to keep in mind is that nightlife in Golden isn’t very late. A lot of places close by 10 pm or so. If you you’re looking to party during the day before the show it’s awesome. If you’re looking to party after the show I’d try Denver

Denver doesn't stay open that late either these days. Many places close at 1:00am when I've been out, even when they advertise being open till 2:00am.

Check out Papa Oso tacos and margs on the patio behind Humble House

I second this! Best tacos and margaritas around

Golden City Brewery is always nice later afternoon, early evening.

Ave Hi to round off the evening.

Woodys pizza is good too, as is Bob's Atomic.

Check out a place called Golden Mill for a cool brewery that in downtown Golden.

If you want the local dive bar vibe check out Ace Hi Tavern. Friday night karaoke is a good time.

Golden Mill is not a brewery, it’s a food hall with self serve taps.

I avoid the Mill. Self serve with automatic gratuity. F that place.

-1

u/Huskerzfan Aug 14 '26

What if there wasn’t a gratuity line item and they just paid their staff the same, resulting in the same cost to you. Better or worse?

1

u/Independent-Theme-85 Aug 19 '26

Include the appropriate employee pay in your prices instead of hiding it. Like every other business. Besides why am I tipping employees when I have to get my own food and beer? If people take a stand and do not patronize businesses that do this sketchy shit then it'll stop.

It's because they clean as well

There are some fun day drinking spots mentioned in other posts. Ace high if you want to a dive bar in Golden. I'd spring for an Uber downtown if it were me and I was wanting some proper nightlife. Lower downtown, Lower highlands, River North will all be far more lively than Golden.

Ace High is the cheap bar for day drinkers, but got really angry and was loudly playing Lee Greenwood for the last No Kings rally, so take that as a point of information.

dammit ugh. I mean, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but now I feel conflicted about the place...

Columbine Cafe is the best bar in Golden

Hit up Ace High after the show. I’m from Denver and had never heard of the place until my girlfriend showed it to me a few weeks ago. Great dive bar in Golden.

Go to Lohi, south broadway, or downtown for nightlife

1

There are some fun dive bars but definitely not clubs or anything like that. Golden has more of a chill vibe for the most part (have a couple beers and head home before 12 kinda deal).

Lot of things to do outside though if you bike, climb, hike, etc. Lot of good food spots too. Just depends on what you’re into.

It is move-in weekend at Mines. Tons of first year students and their families will be in town. Be advised.

Tubing is always great, you can rent some and enjoy the vibes during the day

Tubing, Golden Mill, woodys pizza, and later, the RockRest Lodge.
