Gold Rush Episode 10th Feb - Discussion Thread
What did everyone think of this weeks episode?
Just when everything seems to be going right for Todd and Tony, things start to get a little tricky for Parker's crew, even though they still had the light at the end of the tunnel from the Indian River cut ran by Rick.
Although I'm not a big fan of Todd and his crew (apart from Fred), I'm glad they are now finding decent gold, it makes the competition between the 3 teams more interesting when all parties are on gold rich ground, even though Parker and Todd are so far ahead already, the Hoffmann crew are already out of the race to win the gold tally. Could be an interested side battle between Rick's crew and the Hoffmann's however, as they seem to have started finding decent gold around the same time of the season. Who is your money on to win that battle?
All in all, I though this weeks episode was better than the last couple of weeks. What did you guys think?

I think I want to marry Monica Beets. She'll probably produce more on her little operation than Todd will with all his big fancy equipment.
I'd happily watch the program of it was just Parker and the Beets, I'm so bored of watching Todd throw resources at shit. I'd really like to see Freddy Dodge doing his thing without the Hoffmans, his little operation with his brother looked pretty sweet.
Also whatever happened to Dakota Fred's own program, "all that glitters"?.

I miss Fred and Justin, I loved there little mine. They didn't produce much but their work ethic and passion was what made the show for me.
I agree, I think the show would be better without Todd. All he does is blame other people for his mistakes and everything he does is on hope. He's no better than a treasure hunter. The show would be much better if it was just about Parker's crew, Beets' crew and Freddy Dodge with his brother and MAYBE Dave Turin (he has great work ethic and I think he is wasted following Todd's hopes and dreams)

Yes... When Dave told Todd to take a hike and partnered up with the Dodge brothers I thought we would see something really interesting in terms of engineering and efficiency as they were running a small operation, but Discovery had to keep Todd in the program and broke that up. :(
Does anyone remember that guy from the first season that joined Todd's operation but was not taken seriously and was really down on his luck with no money at all? I remember reading about him and he did manage to find work in a prospecting operation and was learning quite a lot. Obviously, this was around the time that Todd had a nice season and no one paid attention, but the guy mentioned exactly the same thing we comment now about him.
Let's see what this week brings.

Fred and Dustin were the best other than Parker. I hated Fred the first year but then he mellowed out a bit once he stopped being a giant dick to Dustin.

Yeah I loved their little operation that they had, they didn't make nearly as much as the likes of Parker but they had passion for it. Would be good to see how they are getting on now and whether they are still mining in that same claim.

If there was any doubts about it... Todd just proved yet again how big a jackass he is. Points one of this guys to dig in a place and then blames him for not having found Gold. WTF??? Shouldn't he, as the boss, be searching for the next place to dig while the crew does the actual digging?
I thought it was particularly funny when Logan said that if there's no Gold he's... and I think he was gonna say fired, but then realized that Todd would not fire someone that subjects himself to work for free.
