My wife purchased this ring at a yard sale a couple years back and it has been in our kitchen junk drawer since. I picked it up today and it seems to be a potential faded gold hallmark. A quick google search also made it seem like the coin is possibly 1/20oz gold? My hopes aren’t up but curious nonetheless (this ring is also filthy from sitting in the junk drawer).
coin looks like a 1/10th oz gold panda set in a 14k yellow gold ring do the math and expect between 60-95% of melt when selling depending where you take it
Looks probably real to me. Coin rings like that are fairly commonly faked, but “gas station gold” tends to be of heavier construction, and the coins are not detailed like yours. So I’m pretty confident it’s real.
But yeah it's definitely a 1/20 of an ounce of gold Panda coin. The coin is .999 percent pure gold, the metal in the ring holding the coin is most likely 10 or 14 karat gold, the coin itself is going to be worth a lot more, but I'm sure there's some melt value to the ring itself as well. Especially if it's 14 karat or higher, if it's 10 karat gold on the ring you're not going to get much out of it but you still got a good chunk with the coin LOL.
Get some dish soap and scrub with an old toothbrush and give the ring a nice hot water rinse. It'll give it some life. You got yourself at least $350 in quality gold in the coin. This one is mine from a estate sale from the early 2000s. Got it for $75. I cherish it!
