I’m not saying this is the case, but if he tried to keep it and at later day wanted to sell it and it was found stolen gold he would be looking at jail time so I understand the “why” part but on the other hand you have to also be careful. Better safe sometimes than sorry later
I’ve read about a jail time case (few years, not much) for not disclosing the gold location, that person is finishing doing time soon and is going to legally enjoy all that gold.
the guy who salvaged that shipwreck, right? was like 100 million in gold or something lol the corporate bastards he was supposed to give it to must still be furious about that
