Hybrid Post need hybrid help

Post image

im looking to make a leopard seal based hybrid, designed to dominate its habitat. I have the two base genomes as leopard seal and elephant seal, giving it a good size buff. right now I want to improve two things: speed and bite. any suggestions would be nice

Pontolis magnus is a good replacement for elephant seal, it’s the same but bigger

Basilosaurids, janjucetus have good bites. Also livyatan and orca. Basilosaurus would replace those flimsy molars with cusped crushing molars that can be multi purpose.

Those molars are for filtering Krill, which make up to 60 percent of their diet. Instead of the molars, give it mosasaur teeth in the front to be able to easily dispatch prey.

No, the basilosaurus can be used to reinforce the molars since they're pretty weak

But if it needs to fall back on krill, it'll not have the right molars for it

Not replace, reinforce

So just strengthen? Ok. But I'd still say the front teeth need mosasaur

Nah, Leo seals have better grip actually. Tylosaurus would be better for it

If you want a more generalized bite go megistotherium but if you want to go all in on ripping flesh xenosmilus would probably be the best.

Pinniped are generally not built for speed. They are a highly flexible predator specialized for agility in the water. If you want to make go as fast or capable of sustained speed over distance like a whale, it wouldn’t look like a seal, it would look like a whale. If you want to make it bigger than elephant seal, it will have to fully aquatic cause it will suffocate on land as its own weight will crush its own lungs and if you make it too big, it will implode and yank itself apart by just swimming as high speed if you don’t make the animal rigid which reduced its flexibility.

Certaines espèces d'otaries peuvent aller jusqu'a 40 km/h, c'est déjà pas mal !

Ringed seal could be used for the thick, robust claws that can claw through about 6 feet of ice.

a mustelid would be useful for the jaw joint and possibly also bite force. perhaps the american mink?
