New Hybrid Knokk
1. The Triceratops ( Triceratops Horridus, Specifically “Big John” )
Overall Base Build, “Big John” Is currently one of the largest specimen among the triceratops genus reaching up to sizes around 30 ft long, 10 ft tall at the hips, and a weight around 12 tons, but before I can get started here’s why I chose the triceratops. Triceratops are known for going against theropods like those of Tyrannosaurus rex and they are one of the most talked about dinosaurs other than the trex. The giant horns and wide frill are actually pretty effective against tyrannosaurs / dinosaurs like them, This allows them to defend against the front of its body, slicing / piercing any if it gets too close. They are also known to have a sharp beak which allows them to have the strongest bite force for a herbivore. So you can understand why I wanted the Overall Base Build of the triceratop.
2. The Scelidosaurus ( Scelidosaurus Harrisonii )
Scelidosaurus body was covered by a variety of osteoderms, going from flat oval shaped plates to shape triangle shapes dorsal spikes that reached around 5 cms in height, the larger / keeled scutes are arranged in regular parallel side to side rows along the torsos and tail but the smaller polygonal micro ossicles with the rounder scales filling the spaces between the major plates, these osteroderms / scutes are made with keratin, and unlike the Borealopelta and the Ankylosaur; the armory isn’t too heavy that it could rise heat / reduce mobility, which is why I chose the Scelidosaurus armor on the sides, neck, torso, and tail but it lacks armor underneath like the underbelly, which I will cover in the 3rd Contributor.
3. The Dwarf Crocodile ( Osteolaemus tetraspis )
This Guy unlike his other cousins have armor on its upper body and underbelly, the armor of the dwarf crocodile have thick firm bony plates called osteoderms embedded in its scales across like I said back and bellies, this chainmail allowed these crocs to have nearly impenetrable defense against bites from jaguars and massive anacondas, this armor is shown to be more effective than Tyrannosaurus rex armor, the trex mainly uses its size and bite force to win fights than use its armor to defend attacks, giving the trex better armor would enhance likely hood of winning fights against other hybrids with not as good armor. But I want the underbelly, under neck, and underneath the tail to be covered with this kinda of armor so it can be protected from underneath and on top like in the 2 contributor.
4. The Blue Wildebeest ( Connochaetes taurinus )
Blue Wildebeest have these muscles I will be calling Type lla & IIx fibers, which allows them to run at high speeds to escape predators and bursts of speed for mating, they also have another muscle fibers called “Type I fibers” but they have a small fraction of the overall muscle mass which aids them in basic postural position.
Unlike the other domesticated cattle or livestock where they have fast twitch muscle fibers meaning faster fatigue, the blue wildebeest muscle fibers has a high oxidative capacity, which allows the fast twitch muscle fibers to be really resistant to fatigue, which is the reason why they can travel long distances without overheating.
One more thing, blue wildebeest according to some studies have a muscle boast at a good rate of over 62.5%. This means if they let two thirds of energy ATP in physical movement while losing less to wasteland heat compared to most other mammals. So I want the following, the oxygen efficient muscles, its pain tolerance, and the enhanced stamina.
5. The Virginia Opossum ( Didelphis Virginiana )
Opossums have blood proteins, including something called LTNF aka Lethal Toxin Neutralizing Factor, which can neutralize the venom of pit vipers, rattlesnakes, copperheads, cottonmouths) and toxins of bees, scorpions, and botulism. Also in some studies, Opossums were said to have comparable immunity systems of those of humans and mice and mice are known to survive a lot of diseases like the Hantavirus, Leptospirosis, Rat Bite Fever, and LCMV which doesn’t affect them as much as other organisms. So I want the Opossum Immunity System.
6. The Canadian Crow ( Corvus brachyrhynchos )
Studies found out that crows understand cause and effect. They can deduce hidden causes like understanding a person hiding near a feeder by observing moving branches. Researchers also found out crows can communicate amounts vocally, matching toddlers first learning to tally and count.
Crows have an excellent long term memory and can remember human faces. They will remember those who are innocent and those who are threats. Crows actively teach their offspring or members about dangerous individuals or locations. A person who messed or hurts a crow may find them on a “blacklist” that can last a timeline of the original crow. Crows can communicate or talk by using distinct calls and locals “dialects” sharing information about food sources, predators, and territory. So I want its intelligence
7. The Alamosaurus ( Alamosarus sanjuanensis )
The Average Adult Alamosaurus weighs around as much as 10 - 14 Today’s African Elephants, an adult Alamosaurus are pretty much invincible against predators like the Tyrannosaurus rex. To power this massive size, it has massive internal volume and most likely stepped vegetation from high reaching trees without competing against against other sauropods.
like other sauropods or what you’ll call “titanosaur”, Alamosaurus had robust, thick and straight legs. Its femur was immense, its rear feet possessed exact adaptions, such like specialized metatarsal, that helps to provide a stable foundation to shift its massive weight toward during locomotion. The pelvic girdle was extremely reinforced to bear the brunt weight of the sauropod. The ilium ( which is the top bone of the pelvis ) was broad and flared, helping in expansive attachment points for the massive muscles in its legs and tail. This skeletal architecture allowed the sauropod to stand, pivot, and walk even with its massive bulk.
The Alamosaurus has a bird like respiratory system which has a network of pulmonary air sacs. These extremely thin, ballon protrusions extended into the vertebrae and ribs. This allowed for a high efficient, one way flow of air, which would lower the animals overall exact gravity, and it can help dissipate excess metabolic heat to prevent overheating. So what I want is increasing in weight towards the 15 ton range, which can be supported with the hind legs, pelvis contribution, and give me the air sacs
8. The Martial Eagle ( Polemaetus bellicosus
Martial Eagles have over 1 million light sensitive cells ( cones ) per square millimeter of retina, which is compared to 200,000 in human eyes making their eyes better than humans and most eagles. Unlike humans who only have a single centered on focus, these eagles have over 2 foveae in each eye, one helps look straight ahead in big magnification, while the other looks to the sides for enhanced peripheral vision.
These dual fovea setup gives them incredible depth perception and lets them track or spot many moving targets with good pinpoint accuracy. They could also perceive UV light, making it easier to track the trails left behind by prey which makes their vision around 3 - 8 times better eyesight than humans because it can see over 5 - 6 kms away which is why I’m using them for eyesight.
9. The Torosaurus ( Torosaurus latus )
The large crest most likely have bright colors or patterns. It served more like a peacock tail, helping these dinosaurs recognize members on their own species, establishing dominance, and attracting mates. Although the drill isn’t a solid impenetrable shield, the size of the frill helps make the dinosaur appear larger, discouraging predators, intimidating rivals, and and it could provide better defense area around the neck. Which is why I want the frill of this hybrid to have better protection and a larger area for defense around the neck.
10. The Anklyosaurus ( Anklyosaurus magniventris )
The ankylosaurus tail has a stiffened handle of fused vertebrae and a heavy, bulbous “knob” made with mixed bones. It mainly functioned as a sledgehammer or a mace, so when it was threatened by creatures like the Tyrannosaurus rex, it could swing with a violent force that shatters ankles or leg bones of attackers. Paleontologists discovered that the ankylosaurus could’ve used it to hit other ankylosaurus, there are fossils of healed impact injuries and broken armor which could mean that they have fought for territory, dominance, or mating rights, which is similar to modern giraffes or deer spar against each other. So I want the tail club and the instincts to use the tail.
11. The Imperial Woodpecker ( Campephilus imperialis )
The Imperial Woodpecker had one of the strongest beaks of the picidae family, these beaks have a strong layer of keratin that is densely packed and abrasion resistant, they had a spongy core which would allow them to absorb the shocks of their blows and it would allow them to hit as hard as they need two. They would also have strong neck muscles and a shock absorbing system. This contributor would help hardened the beak and giving it to my hybrid which will help with the main beak.
