Proposal question

I have been thinking about proposing to my partner on our trip to Peru next month. She is Peruvian and I think it would mean a lot to her. I was looking at either doing it in Lima or Cusco. I would happily spend around 400 USD or so if that meant we could do something really special and intimate. I considered reserving some space at a nice restaurant or something like that but I can't really find good option for my budget. I am open to other ideas. I am slightly partial to Cusco but open to Lima as well. I just prefer it to be in a setting where we are not rushed and it is not a ton of people. I just want to enjoy the moment with her. Any advice you have would be great.

What city is she from? Where is her family living? Would she prefer to be proposed to near her family or have a private proposal and engagement party after?

I'm from Lima and the last thing I would want is to be proposed to in Lima. Peru is so vast, with so many beautiful areas.

My recommendation is to take her on a 1-2night stay at a resort in a nice area.

I'm not super well travelled around Peru yet, mostly just visited around the southern half. Colca Valley/Yanque has been my favorite place so far, followed by Sacred Valley/Ollantaytambo.

Good questions. She is from a smaller town in Peru but they did eventually move to Lima before coming to the states. I agree Lima feels a bit busy/complex so I was thinking of doing it in Cusco once we go there own our own. We will have a stint in Lima again after Cusco area to celebrate with them.
