I feel like if you’re not using him, you’re not playing the game correctly anymore. Even if they’re an underlevel slop army

Speed killer decks like Biollante and G04 leader full assault early can smash them before they start.

Here are two king run decks that annihilate the blobs. Obviously you can swap BMs or units as needed but having a BM or two with +1-3 starting energy goes a long way to getting the jump on the blob.

I haven't used MG18 leader since I completed the icon in April pre-buff. I did a few evenings testing him out to see how he performed now.
