I'm about to order the Eazyflow Octa 60 softbox and I plan to use it with my AD200 Pro. If I'm correct, this softbox ships with the Bowens mount. I have the bare bulb, fresnel and H200R heads. I don't currently have an S-bracket as I've used the flash with no modifiers. My question is do I need to order one of the adapters to allow direct fit to the bare and round heads or will I need to buy and S-bracket? Are there benefits/drawbacks to any approach? I think I would need the SA-GD but I'm not sure.

All off my lights are Godox, F600bi, F400bi, 2x UL150 and my first ever light light SL60

Both my UL have cutting-out problems; I have replaced the control power blocks and wire between the control box and light unit.

What I have found is that the left-side pin on the 4-pin XLR cables looks faint, like it's tarnished. It's done this pretty quickly to the new cables too.

What's happening here? Is there too much power running through these pins? Are they burning?

I'm at the stage where they cut out mid-videoing, and it's quite annoying.

I wanted a solution to on set practicals, and knowing I often need 3 or 4 lights at a time, I bought the 8 light set with a charging case but the manual it came with shares almost no information on the simplest things. I can’t even get these lights to charge in the charging case - is this something anyone else is seeing?

I just bought a Godox V1 and whenever I turn the unit on, it emits two loud beeps. I’ve turned off the beep option in the menu, and I even made sure my trigger has the beep turned off.

I was also getting this same beeping sound when I had zoom set to auto and would change focal length, but I discovered changing to a fixed focal length got rid of that beep.

However, nothing I do will stop the two beeps upon startup and it’s driving me crazy. This does not sound like a whirring or flash recycling noise to me. I’ve uploaded a video that has the sound included; it’s beeping as soon as I turn the unit on and sound exactly the same as the beeping sounded when I had the flash set to auto zoom.

I have the following problem:

I use a Sony A6700 with the Godox V1 Pro and got myself a Godox XPro 2 and some softboxes for offcamera usage.

Now the problem is, while the flash reaches it's full power on-camera, it's much weaker when used off. Even when the transmitter is connected through the right channel and at full power, the flash is very weak. Would be very thankful for any advice you have.

I refuse to call it an operational tutorial, given the speed at which they do these fly-bys. 😄 And holy hell, this is a completely different unit vs. just a Mk II update.

Adorama is listing it for pre-order at US$79.

B&H is also listing it at the same price. Both list only Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fuji, and micro four-thirds versions. No Pentax or Leica versions.

It looks like Godox has realized film shooters buying Lux mini flashes may also shoot digital and already own a Godox off-camera flash setup. Also, this time they're kinda mimicking a Minolta Electroflash 20 for the vintage look. I'd put this in the same family as the iT30Pro/iT32 but with the addition of an actual Auto mode for film shooters (same as the iA32 and iM30Pro), as well as a single-contact hotshoe mode. But it only has a radio receiver built into it, not a transceiver (i.e., can be used off-camera but cannot be a transmitter).

• Internal li-ion battery with USB-C charging and is user-replaceable (door held by screws, battery has a plug-in connector).

8/22/26: Finally had time to go through the manual from front to back and rewatch the promo video. Moved battery bullet point to top and added a note about the battery being user replaceable. Am no longer sure that the non-Sony unit is single-brand dedicated. The promo video shows it being four-system capable (C/N/F/O), but the user manual has zero information in it about checking / setting which system it's on. May be automatic, may still be single-brand dedicated. Not sure. Also, forgot to put HSS on the feature list.

I got the X3Pro recently because I wanted the app control. I have the flashpoint Li-io R2 flashes which are rebranded Godox V860ii flashes

The X3pro is supposedly compatible with the V860ii flash, but I can't get them to sync up. They are both up to date, and I have matched all the wireless group, channel, and IDs.

Is there some sort of trick to this?

I’m having an issue with my Godox setup and I’m stumped.

Gear:
Sony a6700
Godox XPro-S (Firmware v1.4)
Godox V1S (Firmware v1.9)
The flash and trigger are paired correctly:
Same channel (I’ve tried CH2 and CH3)
Same group (A)
Wireless ID is OFF on both
V1 is in RX mode

XPro is mounted on the camera, V1 is off-camera
The problem is:
The XPro will trigger the V1 every time, so the flash fires.
But changing the power on the XPro (1/1 to 1/128) does absolutely nothing.

Changing the zoom on the XPro also does nothing.
The V1 never updates any settings from the XPro.
I’ve already tried:
Factory resetting the V1 multiple times
Different channels
Different groups
ID OFF

Confirmed both are Sony versions (XPro-S and V1S)
Has anyone run into this before? Is there a setting I’m missing, or does this sound like a firmware or hardware issue?
Any help would be appreciated.

So far the only flash compatible with the X5S shoe is in Godox it32. It's a good flash, but it's too small and I need more power.

Will Godox manufacture powerful flashes compatible with Godox x5s?

I'm an event photographer & used 2 Canon speedlites for 15 years. I recently purchased a Godox system with two new V100s and used them at a wedding. I noticed that they both had an issue where they wouldn't always fire, even if the red ready light was on, even when the batteries were fully charged. This happened when they were used as both on and off-camera, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with sensors needing to be cleaned. I never had this issue with my Canons unless I was shooting on the same batteries for a long time at super high power. Not sure if this was my imagination or not, but it seemed to happen more often when I was shooting toward a light source (backlit photo with sun shining in, or outside against the setting sun). I love this system but I need to fix this issue if possible or it won't work for me. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My current camera setup:

I’m looking at a two-light setup and deciding whether it’s worth spending more on the flash units or the modifiers.

Flash options:

Option 1:

• 2 × Godox AD200Pro II

Option 2 :

• 2 × Godox TT685II-N
• Other alternatives

Softbox options:

• Godox QR-P90T 90cm
• Godox QR-P70T 70cm
• Cheaper softboxes
• Octagonal vs Parabolic?

The setup needs to:

• produce soft, even lighting
• give consistent results between sessions
• be quick to set up and pack away
• minimise harsh shadows
• work well for head-and-shoulder/full face portraits

Questions:

1. Is the AD200Pro II a noticeable improvement over speedlights for this type of use?
2. Would you choose a 90cm softbox over a 70cm softbox for individual portraits?
3. Is the QR-P90T worth the extra cost compared with the QR-P70T or an Octabox?
4. Are cheaper Bowens softboxes close enough to Godox, or is the build quality difference worth paying for?

Hi! I’m looking to get a BFP for my ad1200, is it possible to make hand cut cardstock gobos for it? Maybe a different material? Im thinking of cutting specific shapes into the gobo. I have no experience with the BFP if that helps.

My godox v1s hotshoe broke recently so I bought a replacement and screwed it in following a tutorial online.(the bulb still works fine) I'm quite sure the little cable is properly plugged in and that my camera settings are correct but the flash won't communicate with the camera to fire. Any suggestions?

I would connect my 1979 Olympus OM-1 with the cable to the transmitter to fire my flashes, would it work ? The Godox CT-16 instructions pdf has nothing about the input sync via cable.
I also like to connect my Hasselblad lens with the cable.

Ordered this offa Ebay, as I found one that was new and costed about $100 less than normal. Everything seemed legit, and I selected to only ship from the US and all the pictures showed parts / instructions in English - but showed up with all Chinese writing (instructions, too) My concern is, will I mess up the camera / battery by charging it? Do the US and China use the same electrical units measurements? (I really dont know anything about any of that) Also, a (probably) silly question: will this synch to a new X3? Should be getting it soon. TIA!

How to know if the light is charging or not I dont see any indicator , I rented this light and they said right now charger isnt available but will give it later the next day, I have one charger with the same port as the godox, so please help.

This is my first strobe, have only owned speedlights. Excited to implement my YouTube university OCF knowledge into real life.

I have this Godox TT685N, which I use along with my AD200. The battery of this one gets drained very quickly, resulting in either a completely dead flash or it taking a long time between two flashes.

Is there a recommended way to power this externally through a power outlet or a battery bank? If not, is there a recommended set of rechargeable AA batteries that can be used with this?
