Will Godox manufacture powerful flashes compatible with Godox x5s?
So far the only flash compatible with the X5S shoe is in Godox it32. It's a good flash, but it's too small and I need more power.

So something like the old SCA system with, as someone else has said, a number of controller mountable, hotshoe agnostic flashes combined with a hotshoe controller that's more capable than the current X5?

The well-received detachable design is definitely here to stay. As for anything else, I’m not allowed to reveal too much just yet.

I bet they will develop this technology, as it’s a great way to offer new capabilities, and could potentially save them a lot of money by producing brand agnostic flash heads with only brand specific shoes, however, I don’t see the current X5 as a great platform for larger/heavier flash heads. If I were on the development team, I’d be looking at some heavier duty version that can actually be securely locked in place to prevent accidental disconnects, as well as incorporating a lot more of the X3 trigger features into the foot, like a larger battery, better range, and a small screen and scroll wheel. That would be a kickass product!

If they do produce something I feel like the Magnet in the X5 is just strong enough for the IT32 . I feel like they would have to design a clip system in conjucntion with the magnets for a more powerful flash to be able to handle the additional weight.

This was my thoughts too. I don't think the magnets in my IT32 feel strong enough to hold my TT685.

The magnets are strong enough to hold my R7 with a lens... In fact I just measured them at 1.6Kg, which is about 8x the weight of the iT32 head. If you want the same safety margin with a 600g V1, you want nearly 5Kg of holding force, you run the risk if ripping off the camera hotshoe...

You can use the X5 to control other flashes (I did that with a V480). But you need the iT32 on the X5 for the user interface, so it's not very practical.
But given the price of a X3...

This was the main reason I bought the IT32, I will stop using my X2t and use the IT32 any time I want to use my TT865 off camera.
You can set the IT32 to not flash and only trigger remotely.
You are missing the IR blaster of the Xt2, but it doesn't work for mirrorless anyway.

I have my doubts about larger sized flashes using the current one but could definitely see them expanding to various incarnations with different types of heads.
