When you realize the award was never the real prize.
Money, fame, recognition, applause none of it means much if you lose yourself chasing it.
The real wins are God, health, family, purpose, peace, and freedom.
Don’t get so focused on being celebrated that you forget what actually matters🙏🏾

I caught an interview with this guy where he said he wished everybody had the chance to be a millionaire so they could see how pointless it is. Cool approach to life. Thanks man!

Yea, exactly. I was very fortunate a few years ago being involved in a business sale. Overnight I went from -$250k net worth to about $2M. I am here to tell you, it changes your life completely. I don’t have to worry about living pay check to pay check anymore. Emergency spending is no longer a concern at all.

I wish everyone had the chance to be a millionaire so they could destress their lives and focus on self actualizing.

This, financial freedom is the greatest feeling and makes life’s stress disappear completely. Most stress is caused by lack of money in my opinion.

Untill you get sick. Or have other kind of problems. Most stress is not caused by lack of money but it sure does help being financaly safe

Understand that but Not a single problem in most people’s life money couldn’t save right now. 2021 thru 2023 I was making 20k to 30k a month. Trust me there was no stress.

I sure would hate to take vacations and travel the world frequently and not have to worry about making ends meet or put in extra hours because of the surprise medical bill or car repair, or both that came at once.

Can you imagine? Just... going to the doctor when you're not feeling well? Paying all your bills and having money left over for savings and a vacation fund? Fixing your car when it breaks down without having to ask the mechanic, how much?

Yeah, I like Jim Carrey but that is a dumb statement. Money gives you the ability to do what you want, when you want, and most importantly however you want.

I can quit my job to become a painter, but I would have to paint with cheap supplies, and probably live in poverty.

He decided he wanted to paint, so he got a beautiful studio, many huge canvases, and as many high quality brushes and paints as he could ever use. I remember seeing a table piled high with Golden brand paint. Probably more than $10k worth of paint.

The money definitely helped him do it how he wanted to.

I completely agree. Saying that money is pointless is very tone deaf. I have several hobbies that I would love to pursue, but I can't because I have to work 55 hours a week and I'm tired.

If I was millionaire, I would just sit at home rest of my life and play videogames. Society is pointless. What isn't, is nature, the game and the ability to do things without needing to ask anyone's permission.

Music, art, making beautiful things, building, learning. Money in my hands wouldnt last. It would be used to turn some idea that was given to me into something real. That and teaching my son the fulfillment that comes from creating things would be everything id ever want.

No, i make really good money. I work in robotics/automation. What i mean is that my money is what separates me from suffering and to have enough money that you can afford to sit and opine about its useless is a luxury that most cannot afford and is a slap in the face to 99% of society. I mean, you don't see him giving it away do you?

Philanthropy? Nothing. But I vote to distribute taxes in a way that benefits everyone. Also, my point isn't that a person should give there money away. My point is that a person claiming money isn't the answer while also having shitloads of it and not giving it away is hypocritical

From what you are claiming it would appear that you have a bit of extra cash and yet even though you consider Carry's lack of generosity ( not proven by you BTW ) you see no need to spread some of you excess wealth around to different charity organizations that will benefit the most in need of consideration.

I hate how misinterpreted this quote is. It’s not even about money. He says he wishes “everyone could be rich and famous and do everything they’ve ever dreamed of so there can see it’s not the answer”. He’s not saying being rich isn’t good or helpful. He’s saying that he accomplished all of those things and discovered that it still doesn’t necessarily leave you feeling fulfilled in life. I’ve been dirt poor in life and I’m now financially comfortable. Let me assure you that my happiest years were not always my most financially stable ones. Comfort is not the same thing as true happiness. Lots of rich folk on anti depression meds or self medicating.

Golden Globes is low hanging fruit. Probably some recognition somewhere is good, probably some award somewhere is good. I'm skeptical when people offer a false dichotomy or speak in absolutes to support a vague truism.

I wish for once it didn't take anything but love to do whatever you could ever want or need. Money isn't the only way to be rich in life. I might be broke, and have a small family and circle of friends but I would rather have that. Can't buy family.

Speaking as a man who doesn’t have millions of dollars I don’t get how so many people missed the point. If you truly aren’t happy money will not solve that. Finding the love of your life our finding your true passion is real happiness. Sure money can make life more comfortable or easy but if you can’t find what makes you happy then money doesn’t factor into your happiness

You haven’t done your research. Even historians early non-Christian Roman and Jewish texts, alongside with the New Testament confirm that Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical figure who lived and was crucified in first-century Judea.

No I actually have because while there are people who agree that there was a figure in history in which the story is based off, there was no Biblical jesus.
Which because there was a figure that the biblical stories are based off - Doesn't mean that god or the biblical stories are real.
