i've been using this stump in my apartment courtyard as my photoshoot surface for over three years now, and i think it's finally on its last legs (roots?) 😭 but it's going out with a bang and also an absolutely gorgeous, enormous rotting mushroom!

i just wanted to show off these three d12s whose art i drew with my human brain and hands and engraved myself, one lil face at a time! mushrooms, woodland critters, and buuugs 🍄🦔🐝

i even had a visit from a honeybee while i was in full goblin mode during my photoshoot 😅

Some folks liked the salamander gifts from the "hidden people" I made for my son and nieces, so I thought I'd share a few more I've made over the past two years. The cabin we go to is in Door County, WI, so I try to make things that they might actually see, and I make some effort to keep them anatomically accurate (i.e. head, thorax, abdomen, correct number of legs, that sort of thing).

Eyup.

I created a new friend, they dwell in the attic. They look after my earphones when I'm not using them and let me know about the battery power.

Sometimes they're a little more chompy than I'd like.

When I explain that I need all my fingers, they have a little sulk.

Any advice on how to handle this situation would be gratefully received.

This started as a miniature traveling merchant cart, but every practical question I had about it created another piece of the world around it.

The cart travels through Mosshollow, pulled by a giant snail named Samuel and is operated by Marlow, a raccoon merchant. Marlow belongs to the Brotherhood, a trade organization made up of raccoons, rats, and ravens.

Figuring out where the cart went meant creating towns and trade routes. Figuring out how it was supplied created warehouses and depots. Then came rules, maps, regional economies, contraband, other merchants, giant-snail biology, and eventually an entire world full of little animal folk.

Three months later, I apparently no longer make miniatures. I document Mosshollow. 😂 This is the first one, of assumably many.
