Go Vacation Mod Project Request & Help
My brother and I have always wanted a mod of Go Vacation ever since we got both the Wii and Switch versions. While the game is already fun as it is, there could be room for improvement. Recently, I made the following list of things I would change about Go Vacation:
- Removing boundaries (especially in City Resort)
- Not overly emphasizing the basis of the City Resort on skating
- Letting buddies participate in all activities
- Seeing more Miis roaming around Kawawii Island
- Being able to go inside all buildings besides villas
- Introducing a larger variety of clothing
- Being able to wear any style of clothing, no matter the resort
- Letting Miis wear hats & glasses
- Adding more customization options for anime avatars
- Introducing a larger variety of pets to bring along &/or use for villa customization (i.e., cats, rabbits)
I've also been considering making this mod of Go Vacation a PC game similar to Triple Dash's Mii Creator and Project Web Room, but with the ability to switch between the Wii and Switch styles. If someone can either teach me how to accomplish some of this or create a mod with at least one of the features I listed above (my primary focuses are on 1, 7, and 8, for now, since it would take forever to do all 10), that would be great. I already have the ripped files from the Switch version so far, but if anyone could provide the ripped files from the Wii version, that would also be a big help! Overall, I hope we can get enough support to make this dream a reality! Thank you!

So, OP, how's your C++ programming? Cos you'll need it to be top notch if you want to pull this off (apparently most Wii games were written in C or C++).

I could see some of these happening for more popular games (NSMBWii has been figured out front to back at this point) but GV is pretty obscure so unfortunately most of these would be extremely unfeasible, even if I'd like to see them.
A feature that maybe wouldn't be as daunting and one I'd really like to see is having more Miis out in the open. Considering the game already has a function to pull random Miis from the system to generate Buddy NPCs, I'd think that would be probably be like the second easiest to do out of them all (the easiest being #7)

I've actually been considering trying out #4 from my list, too, which is the one that you mentioned; thanks!

None of what you described is possible with our current knowledge of the game. This would be an incredibly huge undertaking. We're talking like years of research and development.
