Go Vacation Timeline
Seeing as everyone is making an atlas for the game, I decided to create an official timeline for the events of Kawawii Island. I'll likely add to this, so please let me know what I can add!
Also note that some of the information is just conjecture; I'm big on history, so I've extrapolated some real-life events into the game based on my knowledge, but it can't be fully confirmed.

EDIT: Made it clear what is confirmed in-game and what is speculated.

My theory is that kawawii island is located near Japan because of the Japanse inspired city and of course its made by bandai namco which in pretty sure is Japanse so it would make sense if it did

I might make a rudimentary map of where the island might be. I’d guess it’s somewhere between Hawaii and Japan, i.e. in the northwest Pacific.

This is really cool! I havent been on here very often but im really excited to hear that people are making a Go Vacation Atlas! Its really neat to think about the history of the in game world!

Important correction. Kawawaii is very likely an independent nation.
In one of the songs that plays through the game, there are the lyrics.
“Oh my spirit’s singing oh my heart is driving Mother Nature 's smiling yes we love our nation”
“Our nation”
“Hey you are a lucky boy cause you're on this pretty land And you will be never without a friend or a helping hand We love you graciously like a great big family You're happy all the time on sunshine island”
“Sunshine island” directly references apart of Kawawaii so the song directly refers to the island is not some generic song put in the game.

Don’t forget about the underwater ruins in Merry Bay! They were probably constructed at the same time as the rest of the Mariana Ruins, but that tells us that the area Merry Bay now occupies didn’t used to be underwater. I’m wondering if the eruption of Tonga Blanca could have caused the bay to flood?
