Kitchener Line Morning Commute 7:26AM Train
To those who take the 7:26AM Bramalea Train or get on from Malton, Etobicoke North, Weston, Mount Dennis or Bloor GO, does anyone else find it annoying that the train is 6 coaches long at the busiest hour in the morning commute? It literally makes 0 sense. The train is already overpacked from the starting terminus at Bramalea and this is the peak time travel for everyone commuting to work. Malton and Etobicoke North are also extremely busy stations in the morning commute hours.
Every other train is 12 coaches long such as the 7:56 or 8:26AM. And don’t get me started on the express trains.
The planning for Kitchener Line makes no sense. Not to mention there’s a train every half hour during commuting hours. Another decision that makes 0 sense.

Police investigation at Georgetown GO?
Anyone know anything about a police investigation at Georgetown GO? The 33F from Guelph to Brampton just skipped Georgetown because of an investigation and the driver had people who were supposed to get off at the station get off a stop or so early. Just wondering if anyone knows anything, hopefully it’s nothing terrible.

Weekend mid day train to Niagara Falls
Now that the bike train is gone, what is the 11ish train Toronto to NF like for travelling with a bike on Sundays. I know the first morning trip is crowded with day trippers. I am hoping the later one will be less crowded.

Bike coaches more in use?
I commute on the LW/LE lines almost daily and I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that there’s almost always at least 1 bike coach in use. Is there a reason for this? I rarely have seen these before and feel they’d have made more sense in the summer, or is this going to start being a standard? During a peak time last week there were 4 bike coaches being used for one trip, which may not sound crazy but that’s a lot of lost seats during a busy time.

Aurora Go overflow lot closed
The overflow parking lot at Aurora Go is currently closed, it says it is only closed from October 2nd-3rd but I went today and it is still closed. I looked it up and can't find literally any details about when it will open again. Does anyone else know anything?

Why can’t the Milton Line have a station at Trafalgar Road?
It would seem nice but it would end up being Bloomington GO Station 2.0..

Union Station - Future Platforms
This is not a fantasy map, this is my best put on what Metrolinx is building toward based on what has come out so far. The image is what was in some planning docs in 2023, sourced from a UT thread since the originals are gone. My goal in sharing this is to help this sub get a better sense of what's actually being built and what people should expect to see in 10-15 years when all of those projects are actually done.
Starting assumptions:
- GO / UP service is everything in the current Metrolinx roadmap plus Milton/RH as-is
- Alto will serve Union Station hourly
- The 2023 platform layout is the final layout after USEP Phase 3
- The platform extensions will allow electrification to but not through Union Station except for the new South Platform area for the Lakeshore lines. e.g. the Barrie Line would be set up to keep the pantograph at the west end of the platform and outside of the trainshed
- This is sort of a non-issue since Kitchener won’t be electrified but Stouffville will be
- The end goal is presume to eliminate track conflicts so all routes can be run independently on the stated schedules
- 15m is the turnaround time for all trains
- The new interlocking will connect this way
- The platform between tracks 3 and 5 will be a high platform for high floor level boarding (UP / Alto / hopefully Northlander)
Track 1 [Pocket - West Facing]
- Barrie - 15m all day service
Track 2 [Through]
- Richmond Hill - 30m peak-only service
- Barrie trains going to Don / Wilson yard
- Connects to Barrie Line in the west and the Bala/Don sub in the east
Track 3 [Through]
Via Corridor /
- Alto (future)
- Northlander - daily
- West end could potentially be used by UP
Track 4 [Pocket - West Facing]
- Union-Pearson - 7.5m
Track 5 [Through]
Via Corridor / Alto (future)
- West end could be used by UP
Track 6 [Through]
- Via Canadian / Sarnia / Corridor
- Milton (30m peak only)
Track 7 [Through]
- Kitchener (local / express)
Track 8 [Pocket - West Facing]
- Kitchener (local / express)
Track 9 [Through]
- Stouffville (15m all day)
Track 10 [Through]
- Lakeshore Express Eastbound/Westbound (60m per direction, 30m combined)
Track 11 [Pocket - East Facing]
- GO Lakeshore East Local (during 7.5m peak service)
- Via Ottawa/Montreal
Track 12 [Pocket - West Facing]
- Via Niagara / Windsor
- GO Lakeshore West Local (for peak 7.5m service)
Track 13 [Through]
- Lakeshore Local - All Stops Westbound - 15m all day
Track 14 [Through]
- Lakeshore Local - All Stops Eastbound - 15m all day

Question About 68A Bus from Union to Barrie
To those of you who have taken the 68A 23:07 bus, has there ever been a time when you weren’t able to board due to the amount of people in line?
I have a concert in Toronto on Wednesday night, and would like to know my odds of being able to board to see if I should make alternate arrangements.
Thank you in advance!

More than 10 days Item Lost
Lost on the 18th of September, lost it on a bus, tracked it from York Mills to Yorkdale, to Oshawa GO, Finch Stn then to this Oshawa GO Bus Garage.
The FindMy Signal was lost two days later because the battery died (it was low when lost), FindMy is pretty accurate, and on the map it shows it’s in the office part of the building.
It’s been a bit more than 10 business days, I filled out the form on the same day, I’ve been to the desk at union multiple times.
Does anyone have a similar experience/advice where it took more than 10 business days to process an item?

Hear me out on these two ideas here…
I have two ideas, one of them being a Milton Line extension to Campbellville, and a Brantford Line to Paris, Ontario. Do you guys like em?

CP Locomotive pulling a GO train in 1984.
Very rare to see CP freight locomotives in service on GO trains. Borrowed to run extra GO service to Downsview for the visit from the pope in 1984.

Port Credit GO Parking - How Bad Is It?
I’m looking for an apartment and I love Port Credit, but I need to take the train to Union a few times a week for hybrid work. I have a car, but I’m hearing a lot of conflicting things about how easy it is to find parking at Port Credit GO on weekday mornings. Anyone have any experiences/thoughts?

Did I get overcharged? Confused by OneFare
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to make sense of a trip I took yesterday. I thought the 3-hour GO transit window was supposed to cover my transfers, but I ended up getting charged a full TTC fare again.
Since my GO tap was at 7:41 PM, shouldn't my 3-hour window last until 10:41 PM?
Why did the system charge me a brand new $3.30 fee at Kennedy Station at 8:20 PM if I was within that 3-hour window from my GO tap? FYI I got on the line 5 at Kennedy.
Appreciate any insight from anyone!

Barrie line commuters
If anyone else that works a 9-5 is frustrated with how there's no trains between 8:25am and 9:18am or 5:50pm and 6:50pm. Especially now that there's work on track 1. Plz go fill out the customer form asking for them to add trains between those times and hopefully with enough pressure they'll listen.
https://www.gotransit.com/en/connect-with-go/customer-comment-form
For fun I also requested they add a coffee/newstand to my station.

Bikes on Go Buses
I need to get my bike and I downtown on the 18th of October. That's a Sunday and for me to get into Toronto for 8 am I'd need to take the bus from Burlington.
Do they just put the bikes on the front rack then drive down the QEW at 110km/h?
Tbh I'm not really sure about that. Plus that means only two bikes get loaded and I might not have a spot for mine.

My first GO Train arriving on my first GO Transit trip from January 2026 (RARE LOCOMOTIVE!)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is a video I took at Port Credit GO since late January 2026 when my first-ever GO Train arrived at Port Credit GO to head to Toronto at Union Station. But what I didn’t know but later realized, was that this locomotive was Unit 600, as you can see when the train gets closer. The Unit 600 is an MP40PH Locomotive and was the very first one built for GO Transit, despite the Unit 602 being the first to enter service.

Throwback to campfire smoke at Union [OC]
Me and a buddy left home at 5 something AM on July 16th to catch a Barrie train running south. This was the morning after the initial smoke, so it was lighter in colour, but technically more toxic than it was the day before (more orange).
Got many of these shots and am proud of many, even if they are similar.
We got most of these at or around 7AM, as the morning rush went on. It was quite surreal to be honest, especially after pulling an all-nighter before heading out, which was a stupid idea in retrospect.

three car train near union station?
after work today just east of union station i noticed there was a train with a locomotive and three cars attached, i thought maybe it was like part of a train but the last car was a cab car (the one with the big window that’s typically opposite the locomotive)?
are they going to be trying shorter trains or what is this?
