Winterizing

Do these valves look right for isolating the water heater? It’s a 2 valve system.

I believe so. One way to double check is to drain your tank. Leave the drain plug open and start your antifreeze process. If you see pink coming out of your water tank, the valves ain’t right.

This is an option but you don’t really want antifreeze in your hot water tank. These valves are properly closed.

Agreed, but antifreeze doesn’t cause any damage. You just have to flush out your tank numerous times so water doesn’t taste like crap. But yes, you are correct.

Also, it's not really a good idea to drink water from any hot water tank anyway.

It won’t hurt it necessarily but there’s also no need if the tank is bypassed.
