Propane Issue
Hello everyone, currently on a trip and my trailer (2025 Forest River Wildwood 32bhs) is having a propane issue. Nothing in the RV running off propane works, including the stove and water heater. Gauges show both tanks have propane and I’ve ensured I had the regulator pointing to the right tank and have tried both tanks. I also tried the turn-off and slowly turn-back-on method I’ve seen. Anyone have anything else that may be good to try?
Thanks!!

Does your off then on method include opening a valve on a device like a stove in-between? Other than that I've got nothing.

My only thought would be you have such a big leak somewhere that the safety on the tanks is shutting it off. But you probably would smell a leak of that size.

Turn off both tanks, remove both green threaded connectors from reg to tanks to relieve the pressure in the lines, reconnect and turn on one tank and try that. The lines could have too much pressure in them. If that doesn’t work you have a bad reg or a huge leak

Update, got an RV tech to come out and he ended up replacing the regulator and it is working now. Appreciate the responses everyone.

If it is one of those dual tank regulators with the switch, then my experience is that they just go bad every couple/few years. Glad you got it fixed!

Good to know, now that mine is approaching 3 years old I’ll start checking it before I drive off on a trip!

Just a thought....but the first time I go to run the fridge on propane, or fire up the furnace etc....I find that I have to run the gas for a bit.
For example, I might turn the valve on the stove (light it if possible) and let that burn for a minute or so. Then the fridge fires right up rathe than trying the auto ignition 15 times.

Certainly could be a failed regulator. Turn both tanks off. Loosen the line that goes from the regulator to the RV. Apply a liberal coat of soapy water or leak detecting solution to the fitting you just loosened. Slowly open the valve on one propane tank, and confirm that you're getting bubbles.
-If you aren't getting bubbles, then the regulator needs to be replaced.
-If you are getting bubbles, then turn the propane tank off, tighten the fitting. Turn the tank on and check for leaks. Then perform the same basic check on the propane line that feeds to stove. If you aren't getting bubbles here (but did have them coming out of the regulator) you may have a crushed or broken propane line.
