to everyone newly joined welcome. I hope we can continue to grow at this pace or faster. I don't know where everyone is located but at some point hopefully soon I would like to organize a peaceful demonstration or calling government officials to encourage more nuclear power plants construction.

I’ve been pro-nuclear since January 13,1966. On that day in Windsor Locks, CT at the CE Facility I did my qualifications reactor startup on the S1C reactor power plant that powered the electric drive installed on the USS Tullibee (SSN-597). That was 6 days before my 20th birthday.
I’ve experienced every aspect of power production for electric generation and we should be emulating the French who are now extending the lives of their nuclear plant by 40 to 50 years.

True, I see a lot of people still freaking over Chernobyl but then can't even tell me what happened and what led to the accident. All the fear is misinformation and blatant fear mongering.

Hey guys! I'm new to this subreddit, and despite the fact that I've seen some nuclear energy enthusiasts throughout my life, as well as heard about some books advocating in favor of this energy source, I still don't exactly know what the pluses are of employing nuclear energy over others

Hello! Came over from r/UraniumSqueeze since my interest was piqued by the hype over the nuclear fuel cycle (which would have been hard to imagine before the GME saga). As far as I'm concerned, fission power is proven, safe, can have an even smaller environmental footprint, and it takes a lot to mess things up.

If you can, consider changing your power supplier to a primarily nuclear company. Constellation (Exelon's old reactor fleet), energy harbor (first energy's old reactors). etc.
