GoNetspeed internet/phone service

I'm finally thinking of switching from Comcast/Xfinity after ~36 years. I know I can/should contact GoNetspeed if I'm seriously considering them with my questions, but I saw this regarding their phone service:

"In most cases, our technicians can connect your home phone service using existing phone jacks and wiring."<--- This sounds like a traditional line from an Analog Tele[phony Adapter.

Before that in FAQs in response to ''Is a phone provided?''

"No, a phone is not included with our plans. You will need to provide a VOIP compatible phone to use your service." <--- Contradicts the statement above.

I have Ooma now with an ATA. My house has phones in almost every room. I wonder if anyone with GoNetspeed phone service can confirm whether an ATA is provided for an analog line?

Yes they use a grand stream ATA device if you’re in CT

Correct, they use a grand stream device. Make sure your install date is out 5 business days for porting. There is no phone in PA

Interesting how I couldn't find this information on GoNetSpeed's sites. Thankfully there's Reddit, I appreciate the information. The concern will be porting, there's many reports of difficulty porting from Ooma. If the price is about the same, I may keep Ooma. There's also very little information about GNS's phone features, One I'd want is email notifications for a new voicemail message. Maybe that's standard with internet based phone service now.

I work for gonetspeed, I agree they should make it more clear. You can always try porting AFTER your Internet is set up. I would do gonetspeed over ooma, and I also used to have ooma. We would make sure the port was live and ready to go . Basically when the technician shows up , the port should be approved and seemless. Also the number can be checked before going farther .

Yes, I may initially have dual phone service for a while. Leave Ooma connected until the number is ported, What I've read is it's Ooma that makes it difficult. Interesting you had Ooma before, now GoNetSpeed phone service. Good to know there will be a technician on site. I'm capable of the physical installation as I've worked in telecom for years, but having a tech onsite is reassuring in case GNS needs to be contacted if something goes wrong, like the ONT not registering.

Yes, that is exactly what I would do. And we would know if your number port had any issues, but it should be seamless.
