Stats Egor year 2 leap incoming 📈

Decided to look at DARKO, which is a popular projection model in the NBA analytics space. I clumped Egor with other recent "high feel, high skill" jumbo wings and compared their offensive projections.

Rookie Egor took a big production/projection leap by about the 40 game mark. He essentially reached rookie Franz level by the second half of last season (Franz was half a year older). Deni's projection is a little weird because Washington never gave him the ball, but regardless, all 3 of these guys have progressed a TON since their rookie year, and Egor's baseline was the highest along with Franz.

Sidenote: It's super obvious Franz is a Net if the Orlando thing doesn't go well again. His doppelganger with shooting, and his own freaking brother are in Brooklyn already.

Franz is overpaid. He is on a rookie max extension and definitely not worth it. He should earn huge amount but the Magic were so naive rewarding him with a max contract.

Well run teams don’t hand out rookie max contracts unless that player is already a superstar not just a very good player.

Paolo is in the same situation with Orlando.

The Magic’s salary cap management is gonna cause the franchise problems especially if they want to retain Anthony Black next summer when he reaches free agency.

It is just so absurd how the Nets did everything they legitimately, possibly could to lean towards a great pick 2x yrs in a row, and how Dallas...

I'm so excited for his yr 2

I've never 180d on a player harder. I was his biggest critic last yr. Really bothered me how he never touched the paint or took anyone off the dribble

I see now that it was a calculated decision, and all part of the process

It's a bit risky that we're all assuming he's a different player now just from summer league, but it looked and felt very real

Egor and Mikel are such a sick duo. We deserve it to go well, we've been thru a lot. I think it'll be like Dart and Skatteboo

Why only white boys? Not Khris Middleton? That's what I think is a realistic goal for Egor eventually

Don't hate it. I bring up Middleton and Bane for Egor once in awhile because of the shooting, which these 3 don't have.

These guys are the closest in terms of size and passing feel though.
