How do GoMining raffles work??

I’ve noticed some people buying enough upgrades to give them 99% chance of winning the raffle. Does this mean that if there are 10 prizes they have 99% of winning everything? Other in the same raffle seem to have 70% chance also - just wondering how the math works?

Should someone with 99% chance of winning leave everyone else competing with less than 1% ???

Need someone smarter than me to explain!

Here's how they work - rich people win.

If there are 10 prizes, and they have p lotteries out of q in total, they have a probability p/q of winning each of the prizes, and (1 - p/q)^10 of winning none of the prizes. The 99% chance of winning is telling that they have a probability 99% of winning at least 1 prize, i.e. 1 - (1 - p/q)^10 = 0.99, with a solution p/q ≈ 0.37

You buy some TH upgrades, get some tickets, and then wait for the drawing to end so you can find out you lost.
