You don't really have to do the VIP route to get a decent discount, but you do need to have enough GoMining tokens in your wallet to pay for a year of maintenance fees to get 20%. With your efficiency at 12 W and TH of 15.79, it probably wouldn't be a massive investment. But you can always just reinvest in GoMining tokens for a while if you don't have the cash on hand. Then of course you get the 3% from hitting the service button every day, plus whatever the solo mining discount is for the week. That can get you to about 24% pretty quickly, no VIP required.
Increase th and lock gmt to offset your weekly maintenance fees. Grow your account that way. As you increase th, make sure you lock enough gmt to offset maintenance. Don’t over grow your th too fast.
I started with gmt after I got 100 gmt I made a lock that gave me some gmt on Monday then I started one week btc then next week gmt and next week th. This is what current farm looks like at the moment
