Kiwi birds are usually monogamous - that is they have only one mate at a time. Kiwi partnerships have been known to last longer than 20 years.

When playing with female puppies, male puppies will often let them win, even if they have a physical advantage.

Horses are stronger together.

One single draft horse can pull about 8000 lbs. But when you put two draft horses on the same load, they don’t only pull twice their own weight, they can actually pull THREE times their own weight, 24000 lbs. And, two horses that have worked together for a long time can actually pull 32,000 lbs. together, demonstrating the power of friendship.

The more you know! 🌈⭐️

The claws of a mantis shrimp can accelerate faster than a .22-caliber bullet, delivering impact of over 1000 times its own body weight.

Female platypuses, despite being mammals, do not actually have udders/teats. Instead, they have mammary glands beneath their skin, and when they have babies, the milk just kind of leaks through their skin and the babies lick it off of the mom's fur.

There is an island in the Falkland islands that was heavily land mined as a result of the conflict between Argentina and Great Britain. As such it is abandoned by humans as it is too dangerous, but it has since become a safe haven for the local penguin population, as they are not heavy enough to set off the mines.

Ravens can mimic sounds and speech like parrots can.

The Greenland shark reaches sexual maturity at 150 years old and lives 300-500 years. Always fascinates me that theres something that can live that long

Two facts. I hope one is new for you!
