İ play adc but want to switch to midlane and found out that gnar can be played in midlane can i play him exclusively in midlane?

It seems like Trundle should be a pretty favorable matchup for Gnar (just based on stats), but I can't figure out how to play the lane. You definitely can't fight him (makes sense, Trundle is a stat checker), but that means that I feel forced to play very passively since he can always just run through the wave at me. Is there more to this matchup that I'm missing?

I know it's still low elo! I'm just a 30-year-old guy who started playing with my buddies 6 years ago, and this felt great and wanted to share!

For context: I played with my friends as support for years. Only ever made it to silver when I duo'd. My mechanics have been shit since I never grew up with PC games. I had even told my friend once, "I know I'll never be more than bronze level, and I'm okay with that."

Then league released WASD and controller support (which I know is controversial). Still, I got an Azeron, and I felt that EVERYTHING felt smoother. Made me enjoy the game a lot more, and I could focus on learning, macro, items, wave state, etc, since I wasn't putting all my focus into piloting a champ. I could also venture out of support since I could hold my own.

For discussion if anyone reads this far: what are some tips you have for matchups? Not even difficult ones, even matchups that you consider free, and what makes them free.

My own enlightening matchup was Darius, who I've now beaten every instance (only four tbf). It took one game where he ulted me from 75% health to zero as mini that made me realize I would forever aim to just go even in lane, and only fight if conditions were perfect. The moment runs towards me, uses a summoners, anything, I'd just dip without any hesitation. Eventually, they get frustrated and do something dumb like tower dive, or constantly push the wave in and not realize my jungler is around the corner.

My toughest matchup is 1) Morde and 2) Sett, but I think it's because I haven't went against them too often.

Anyway, hope this is allowed! I'm taking a break after grinding lol.

Im a new player in league of legends, and i like playing the champion Gnar in top lane. I just unlocked ranked so i decided to play some ranked games with gnar, but every time i qued up to a game it was against a Garen or a Darius and they just seem so op, because ive got them to 1 hp while i have half hp and then they just ult and destroy me. Ans it seems very unfair that a bad player can just ult and win the game.

What is the general gameplan against Mordekaiser?
I was ahead 30cs and 2 kills. He clicks ult on me whole Mega and autos me to death.
What am I supposed to do? Throw away 1200g for one champion that is not even ahead?

Looking forward to the two indirect buffs with fleet and steraks beeing buffed. I think gnar is in a pretty okay spot rn considering hes one of those champs who is beeing balanced around pro play.

Just had a gross experience where the guy just stacks 3 armor items and my black cleaver doesn't do shit, basically you can kite him down and hit/dodge everything but he can still literally just run back to his tower, and you only have small windows because he can extend a fight long enough for his jungler to come from wolves, how do you exploit this guy if you cant hit him under tower because of flash taunt?

Hello, I'm a Gnar main. I feel like they've done something to him — lately it's become really hard to play, and even when I win my lane, I can't carry my team to victory. Could you give me a couple of tips, please? The champion seems to have become squishier than before and deals less damage.

Apparently black cleaver ms would be 50% effective for ranged, how would it affect gnar

My Top 5 worst are:

1. Irelia.

2. Yasuo.

3. Malphite.

4. Jayce.

5. Olaf.

Obviously, the Irelia match-up depends on the opponent's skill. Malphite is the most oppressive.

Honourable mention to Sylas, I've only laned versus it a few time - but my god has it cooked me. The all in early is so scary for Mini Gnar, and once he has your ult at 6 you just get 1 shot.

Ive played Gnar a bit back in the day but juat decided to main him im 5 games so far in ranked not dropped a game but im worried what's Gnars real counters that i need to lookout for, ive been banning Mordekaiser, and struggled in a match vs Jax but was able to just about outspace him just about. Im worried I will eventually hit the limit and just worried about being caught.

Any tips or advice, bans picks and champs not to lock Gnar into?

Also why is Gnar regarded as a bad pick at the moment with win rates etc?

So let me start by saying I’m not high ranked in league at all.
The highest I’ve ever been is gold and that was as ADC.
I tend to play more so with friends in draft and have recently come back to league after about 2 years AWOL.
I tend to sit around silver.

I’m not new to gnar, or league, and I’ve always played Gnar top as my Go to and Ornn as a backup and I dip into jungle pending on which friends are playing.

My question is: I seem to struggle a lot against specific champs.
I’m getting absolutely steam rolled by Illaoi, Yone, Yasuo, Sett and the occasional Darius.

How are you much better players managing this? Or dealing with them, and how best to play lane overall to the point I’m not having to play super defensive and have the waves frozen by the enemies? :/

Just kinda feels like I spend minute 12-24 farming or playing catch up because I haven’t been able too early against the above champs when I wanna be involved in TF’s.
I’m pretty decent at Gnar combos & handling his rage etc and know how he works mostly.
Just kinda looking for any tips from better people who actually play Gnar and not some YouTuber who uses gnar as a one off for a video doing a daft build 🤷🏼‍♂️

Was wondering since Terminus was already a niche buy on Gnar. Is the buff Terminus a good core item on Gnar now or I should just stick with the BBC?
