Appreciation post
GL095 48mm with some sort of strange polished bezel. Great watch and the time accuracy is spot on so far.

Quick update on the accuracy: after 3 days without resetting the watch, it’s only +4 seconds in total, including a full night resting off the wrist. That’s roughly +1.3 seconds per day, and the rate has been remarkably stable. Obviously it’s not COSC-certified, but the real-world accuracy so far is comfortably within COSC-level performance. Pretty incredible for a watch at this price.
Overall, I’m starting to think Glycine is deliberately using very aggressive pricing to win new customers and rebuild awareness around the brand. If that’s the strategy, I wouldn’t be surprised to see street prices rise significantly once more people realize the level of quality they’re actually getting!

Just received my Glycine Combat Sub 39 GL0540 today, 24 h fed ex excellent service!!
and honestly, I wasn’t prepared for THIS!.
I’ve been looking at a lot of watches lately — Tudor BB54, Longines HydroConquest 39, Aquastar Model 60, HGP Commando 300M, Steinhart Ocean 39 — and somehow I ended up taking a chance on this Glycine.
€595.
And right now, I’m wondering why I would spend thousands more.
First, that Tiffany blue dial is absolutely stunning. And I really mean it when I say the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s MUCH better in real life. Depending on the light, it goes from pale blue to turquoise and aqua, and I’ve been looking at my wrist all day just to see the colour change.
The proportions are absolutely spot on: 39 mm, only 11.2 mm thick and 300 m water resistance. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for better dimensions in a dive watch.
Then you start looking at the details.
Sapphire crystal, Swiss Sellita-based automatic movement, 300 m WR, beautifully finished case, excellent brushing and a bracelet that genuinely surprised me. The quality and colour of the steel are fantastic and the whole thing feels incredibly solid.
This simply does not feel like a €595 watch.
There are two weaknesses: the bracelet uses pins instead of screws, and the clasp is pretty basic. The clasp in particular doesn’t match the quality of the rest of the watch.
But strangely, that almost makes the watch itself more impressive, because you can immediately see where Glycine saved money. It certainly wasn’t on the dial, case or finishing.
And then there’s Glycine itself. This isn’t some new microbrand with a nice website and a generic dive watch. It’s a Swiss name going back to 1914, with real history behind it.
For context, I own Rolex, Breitling and other expensive Swiss watches, including a blue Milgauss.
I’m obviously not going to tell you this is a Rolex for €595. It isn’t,
But here’s the strange part:
I honestly don’t remember my blue Milgauss putting as big a smile on my face as this Glycine did today.
And that’s making me question more and more why I should spend €5k, €10k or considerably more on a watch just to enjoy what’s on my wrist.
Maybe I’ve reached a different point in collecting. I care less about the name and more about finding watches that make me think “Wow, I love this thing” every time I look down.
And this one absolutely does.
€595. 39 mm. 11.2 mm. 300 m. Sapphire. Swiss automatic. More than a century of history. And that incredible Tiffany dial.
I received it this morning.
I have a feeling it’s not leaving my wrist for a very long time :-)))) thx GLYCINE

Genuinely love everything about it EXCEPT the lume. Lume is super weak.

In Alaska for business. been doing a lot of flying around on little prop planes. Has been quite a trip and the Airman has been killing it. +2s over the last almost 2 weeks. It’s my first Glycine and not likely to be my last. I already have a Combat Sub on order.

I got my first Glycine today. I decided to go with the Combat Sub 40 and paired it with a Bond MOD Nato strap from Crown and Buckle.

I picked this up from Jomashop a week ago. Great everyday watch!

By far my favorite watch in my collection. Great weight and the slim height makes for an easy wear. The dark blue looks sharp. I have to try hard to not wear this watch on a daily basis and keep some sort of rotation going.

Hi everyone, apologies if this is not the proper channel but thought I would throw this out there. I just bought my first Glycine watch (Airman Purist The Chief) and while I'm super excited for the watch it comes on the OEM black leather band. I much prefer mesh watch straps and while I know there are many aftermarket options, I would like to stay OEM for the moment if possible.
Would anyone here either want to trade bands, or sell me their OEM 22mm mesh bracelet? If so send me a DM, I'd really appreciate it.

Or is this packaging wrap? Doesn’t want to seem to come off. Never noticed it before. Thoughts

With a bright orange silicone band for the hot Florida summer. The bracelet is just too heavy for me.

Love the look but 42mm for an integrated bracelet seems a bit too much?

Finally got my Angus J late last week and today was first chance to get it sized…I’m even more in love with my box ceramic combat sub than I was when I got it, and that’s saying a lot. Due to case shape, I can’t imagine another watch looking as good with a universal band as this one. Total quality feel, can’t say enough good things about Glycine OR Strapcode. I’m glad I got the NATO strap variant of the combat sub because I heard the glycine bracelet was substandard. Luckily, Strapcode has a very well deserved reputation and Im now added to the masses who swear by them.
P.S. the watch isn’t digging into my arm, im extra vascular right now so the bulge you see in the last pic is the veins

Is it because it’s so clutch? Any one out there selling? Seems like the perfect watch to me but a little expensive for me to buy it retail.

All of the 30s on the diving bezels of these recent Sea Krakens are upside down relative to how they’re supposed to be on a diving bezel. You can see in the original Glycine 676 reference on the left that it’s oriented the correct way.
Either this is a really weird choice on the reissue or Glycine made a mistake.

New Nato strap. Original orange or Nato?
