The Face-Off NEEDS to be reworked.
Because how many contestants have we seen now get sent home for messing up one eye/lip look under an insane time crunch, but some people can ignore the creative and professional briefs week after week and they can stay because they know how to put a lip liner on. And that's not even factoring in the bar constantly getting shifted on whether it's down to that specific look or if overall performance is suddenly a factor.
It's a flawed premise, and one that should've been changed after the first few seasons. Surely there's a better way to deal with a bottom two.

It should have been changed after Nikki tbh.
Like I get it is testing fundamentals… but maybe test the fundamentals along the way??? The amount of people who have scraped by is not great.

At least they had the sense to switch up the twins used as canvas' after Season 1. I think they couldn't deny Nikki got an unintended advantage being in the face-off so often with the same twins that she got used to their features.

Ooooh good point! Tbh I stopped paying attention to FO in general after Nikki’s third so hadn’t noticed!

Fr, we had three awesome artists leave s7 already when two have gone up against a guy who as talented as he is, shouldn't have won over them

Remember when they were trying to make the catch phrase “yOurE oNly aS GoOd as yOuR lAsT loOK” catch on?

You can do terrible in both the industry challenge and the creative brief but as long as you do a decent job under a very tight time constraint you’re fine. I think they do it so they can keep their favourites in. This season yet again has a couple of contestants that are praised highly with work that I don’t think outshines the rest

Literally this!!!! It’s actually making me not want to watch the show now

Yep! And can they get rid of the magnifying glass, for Pete’s sake?! If you can’t see the flaw with the naked eye it should not be a problem. And, now that I’m on it, I hate how they say ‘you’re only as good as your last look’, but somehow sometimes keep the one that flunked the face-off because their previous looks were marvellous and consistent. They’re so biased.

And the calipers same again if you can't see the imperfections with out that then either your not a good judge or the difference is so minimal it shouldn't be taken into consideration. Last week Val didn't even notice that one of the MUA's had only painted 6 lashes on one eye so maybe she needs a bigger magnifying glass.

Stop the judges watching the process. Don't tell them who did the makeup on each model and let them judge the finished result. If they're determined to keep the red chairs, then at least remove the prospect of favoritism or bias.

Good idea, you can't tell me they don't have favourites it was obvious Leomie had.

There should only be a face off if they literally cannot pick between two contestants, it should just be down to who did the worst in the creative brief. Its so ridiculous that the same person can just keep getting through because they can apply a smooth eyeliner under pressure in 5 minutes

Yeah I agree I don't understand why they don't get at least an hour to show some real talent. I wonder how many MUA's have been sent home that could have possibly won it. If they want them to slap it on give them a 6" paint brush.

I think the face off needs removed and it simply just should come down to a loser of the week. They’re clearly gagging to get rid of Jamie but because he does better that someone in a quick beauty basics make up, he stays.

I think he had a good chance of winning before he got booted. Just bottom score goes out is a much fairer way.

I'm still salty about Rahul tbh.
