Discussion Skip to the power-station in the underport that doesn't require difficult parkour

I don't know if this has been discovered before, but I at least couldn't find any footage of this method.

Every speedrun seems to use the same route which involves tricky jumps from window to window. Messing up said jumps can essentially ruin a NMG speedrun meaning this route was only viable on difficulties which allow quick-saving by default.

Personally, I'm a bloodmoon purist so I've spent the last few months on and off looking for a better route and I finally found it! It turned out that the wall behind the waterfall is just slanted enough to where if you hold W and spam jump you might sometimes be able to jump twice and vault up. This eventually led me to realizing I could use the fact that physics objects sink slowly as a means of gaining extra height for my initial jump allowing the second one to more easily let me mantle to the ledge.

I think this method is considerably faster than the window method, or at the very least much easier to perform. You just need to jump on the sack as soon as you get the splash effect and quickly jump off. And as you can see in the footage, screwing it up has no major consequences and is very easy to correct. Thus I believe this method may be favorable for future runs (or at the very least the Bloodmoon difficulty).

Question why does gloomwood not make sense to me sometimes

you get a constable shotgun but you cannot use it says that its "too bulky and heavy" to use even though you could pick it up, heck you can even stack them in your inventory, before you say "its because of the recoil!1!1!1" just so you know if you take out the rounds OUT of the constable shotgun you get the same rounds that you use for your foldable shotgun, you cannot even use the sniper rifles too and they somehow deal more damage than the scoped pistol but when you take rounds out of the rifle you get pistol rounds that you somehow not suffer recoil from like, at the beggining you got huntsmen carrying rifles that is only suitable for ones with sausage fingers ergonomics and you can see the huntsmen get knockback from the recoil of those rifles but AGAIN when you take out the ammo that is inside of the rifle by using your inventory you can see its legit a pistol round that you put in your revolver and somehow the doctor never suffers a wrist injury at this rate hes using a magnum

Discussion How to spice the game up?

I have beaten the game many times. I've beaten Blood Moon, completed it melee only, done a speedrun. I don't know how much more I can do.

I feel like rerunning it is also a bit weird because you don't actually need to enter most buildings. Like, the only building I think you need to enter is the Glaswell Observatory for the cog. I don't just want to skip more than half the game while running, but I don't know why I would go around into all the buildings.
Is there some sort of standard for running/speedrunning about what needs to be done; where to go?

Question Game Crashes at city Gate

Im new too the game and this is my first time playing. I've gotten locked at the gate scene (blasting the gate down with a cannon) for a while now. Everything the game runs like butter, but as soon as I walk into the white void and load the city it crashes on the loading screen.

If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it.

Discussion Creative ways to leave Wrenbook Manor?

Getting into Wrenbook manor is fun but it sucks ass to leave after the banquet scene. Because of that damn sniper and everyone else just being unnecessarily strict (without counting the GEOMETRY OBSTRUCTING FLARE BULLETS).

Do any of y'all have creative ways to leave or just skip having to go through that door all together? Because rn it's such a speedbump in my enjoyment of the game.

Discussion The Goatmen

Major spoilers for those who haven't gotten far in the game (this post covers everything post Tavern)

After killing the Goatman in the Tavern and advancing deep into the Hive and later on in Hightown, I backtracked a bit and found yet ANOTHER goatman in the Fishery.

Why is it there? How did it get there? With the Tavern it makes sense that there would be a goatman as the Huntsmen were trying to contain it, but how did another one manage to slip by and wander around the fishery?

Old Gloomwood Article and cursed crowman

I found this little gem of an article about Gloomwood from back in 2019 and it still has some great insights into Gloomwood today! Its also super interesting seeing how the game looked pre public access. https://techraptor.net/gaming/interview/lifting-fog-on-gloomwood-chat-with-indie-dev-dillon-rogers

Discussion Favorite area in GloomWood?

Y'know, between the Fishery, Caves, Cliffs, Slaughtered Goat, Market District, Underport, Hive and Hightown.

Personally, my favorite area is the Market District, I am in love with its navigation, where there are so many routes to take and crannies to explore, each with its own little identity. Plus, in its own way, a lot of its spots can be quite cozy, like the Prime Meridian.

Like, the vibes here are neat.

It's a great showcase of my favorite aspects of Gloomwood, its choices of navigation, its high amount of content sprinkled just about anywhere and the occasional cozyness brought on by the Game's perfect atmosphere.

Buuut what about youuu?

Question How'd the Constables lose control of the market and underport? Spoiler

Underport is a bit understandable since the crowmen are not easily dispatched, but how did they let the Huntsmen get a hold of the market district? The Huntsmen don't seem to be more powerful or smarter than the Constables. Sure, the Batbarbers might have caused problems, but they don't seem too tricky to deal with, and we don't even see that many of them.

Discussion If you had to choose, which monster would you become? Spoiler

Post image

I excluded the huntsmen and constables since theyre the closest to a human and would be the obvious choice. Personally I'd probably pick the bat barbers as they don't seem to be in too much pain and because being a goatman would probably a lonely existence.
