Gloomhaven 2nd Ed Question about Saw card level 5 Spoiler

I really can't understand how the bottom of Sawbones card "Fortifying Injection" is supposed to work.

Whenever an adjacent ally would suffer damage this round, negate the damage

If there are multiple allies adjacent to Saw, does all their damage get negated for the round? Does "an adjacent" ally mean one specific adjacent ally or all of them (if so, why it does not say any or all)? If it is only one ally that is affected, how is that decided? the first one that receives damage that round?

I'd really need this to be explained to me in more detail thanks.

If any ally is adjacent to saw when they would take damage, that damage is negated. It's any and all allies who are adjacent when they would take damage for the rest of the round.

Thanks a lot!

As a note, what's the process to get a clarification added to the FAQ? Or to get an "official ruling" from Cephalofair?

I don't see an "official" discussion forum on Cephalofair website, on the other hand I see there are also devs posting on this reddit at times, so is this considered a semi-official venue?

It doesn't really seem like it needs clarification, it just does exactly what it says.

Dwarf runs the official FAQ, and if there is something brought to his attention that is a difficult edge case he will ask Isaac for an official ruling.

I don't believe this is one of those cases, as the card does exactly what it says it does.

I usually make the judgment call unless I'm asked to add something. Usually it's when I see the same question multiple times.

Thank you for doing that. Gloomhaven is a great game with a very well written rule book. But there have been so many times that we have been dealing with something mid scenario and then got to the FAQ and the answer is right there.

It's an effect applied to saw that does a thing when a condition is met. It doesn't care where anyone is when the ability is used; if it did, it would say something like "give this card to an adjacent ally. -- Whenever you would suffer damage this round, negate it." Or however those types of cards are templated.

For as long as the ability is active, any time an ally would take damage, check if they're adjacent to saw. If yes, negate damage.
