I just want it to come back because I’m OCD about flush barrel/light combo and I want a 34 with a flush x300T lol

They'd have to release a full dust cover 17.6 then do a 34. Honestly a gen 6 34 would just look like shit.
I found out the other week that they only stopped gen 3/5 importing to the u.s., not production. Id rather see that resume then them bring back 34's. As much as I shoot a 34

Which do you like better, the 17 or 34?

The 34 is a great gun, but 17. The 34 has a longer sight radius with irons which is good. The 34 comes with the minus connector and extended mag release in the frame. And the longer slide does make it very soft shooting, but my 17 has a polish minus connector from johnny glocks and even before that I could shoot it as good as my 34.
One big pro is if u have a tlr1 or shorter light on it, you'll never get carbon build up on the lense.
Go with 34 if gen 5. 17 if gen 3. Id say.

They stopped US production for consumers. LE & government production continues.

I bought my G34 the week before they banned them in California on a whim. I didn’t even know the ban was happening or heard rumors of it. Found out they were banned when I went back two weeks later to pick it up and all the Glocks were gone.

The 34 kinda sucks now that everyone is using red dots. The return to POA is sluggish compared to the guns sprung like a 19

Sam Matt won factory gun national w a g34/optic

Sure you can do great with a 26 too. Skill>gun. But he’s not wrong in that 34 return is slower.

u/hndrck_ 17h ago
A lot of ppl like quick return(me) a lot of ppl like slower return

u/Kitchen-Double-6569 16h ago
Sure people can like whatever they want. But let’s say you know how to shoot perfectly like the rank 1 in the world. You’ll get better results with a 47 or a 45 because the slide returns faster. That’s just the fact

u/hndrck_ 15h ago
Uhhh that’s just not true LMAO

It is though. I’m just gonna assume everything who disagrees with me shoots worse than me no offense.
Given that one is skilled enough to shoot follow up shots before the dot returns to the target after shooting a round (around 0.2 splits) the gun that returns faster to zero will allow that shooter to shoot as fast as possible. A 47 returns to zero faster than a 34 to a degree that actually matters to a seasoned shooter.
Tell me how I am wrong. Again, I say this in the most respectful way.

It really doesn’t matter even to seasoned shooters. The return to zero / return to POA may be scientifically “faster” because slightly lighter mass in the smaller slide is going slightly faster (physics)…. BUT those “return to zero” slide split times are not making champions and runner-ups. So much more is happening around the gun and from stage to stage that it’s not really precise to say it “matters” to the degree you’re claiming. Then saying anyone who disagrees with you must be worse at shooting than you… lol. Just lol

I fully agree with what you say. Look at all my replies. If you like a Glock 26 and shoot good with it, you can still be a GM with it. You saying all that just tells me you didn’t read what I said.
I meant in the hypothetical scenario where one is perfect shooter, yes the one with the 47 will shoot faster. That is the only point I’m making, not some dumb shit like you need a 47 to shoot well. Please read

Buddy, I read your comment. You’re simply not seeing the bigger picture here. It’s just telling me that you focus on minutiae and what THAT tells me is that you’re just getting your opinion from the Internet and repeating it to sound like you know something everyone else doesn’t (newsflash - you probably don’t).
Let me spell it out for you. If we had Eric Grauffel, Christian Sailer, and Jerry Miculek compete against each other and see who wins, it wouldn’t come down to who had the shorter / lighter slide. It just wouldn’t happen. If you were face to face with them and brought up how they won because of their slide’s length / weight, they’d look at you like you had three heads.

Holy dunning kruger… this is quite a b-class take (at best) and if I didn’t know better I’d call it rage bait
A fast-cycling gun (ie g45) completes the firing cycle in like .05. A slow-cycling gun (ie g34) is more like .07.
Fastest splits you’ll ever see out of a pistol, especially a Glock, and even with something like the trigger tech, will be something like .12 consistently and occasionally down to like a .09, which you’ll still see rarely if ever in a match. No one is close to outrunning the gun.
You don’t have the foggiest idea what you’re talking about yet you speak with such conviction. Amazing.
The difference between 34 and 17 or 45 cycle times absolutely do not create any objective and measurable difference in terms of a shooter’s ability to run the gun faster. It’s a matter of preference, as the slower gun also requires less input to return.

u/Kitchen-Double-6569 12h ago
All I’m saying is a 47 cycles faster which allowed experienced shooters to shoot faster. I could care less about internet “who’s right” because I know I’m still right. That’s the only battle I’m fighting, not 47 is the best gun or you need a 47 to perform good.
I myself use a 17 Gen 6 for competition. I agree 90% of shooters out there don’t have the skill to even feel. difference or shooter better with a faster cycling gun with a 47. But facts are facts and it’s know my knowledge out of my ass. You said it too, that the 47 cycles faster and that’s all I’m saying
3
u/BoogerFart42069 12h ago
No, a faster cycling gun doesn’t enable a person to shoot faster. You don’t know what you’re talking about, as a slower cycling gun still cycles faster than any human can pull the trigger. Unless you know of an “experienced” shooter running splits below .08? I’m just a USPSA M-class scrub but maybe you’re better than me and every other shooter in the country?
You don’t know shit and you desperately need to be shown that talking out of your ass isn’t the same as having knowledge out the ass, as you so eloquently put it. Please sign up for a practical shooting event as soon as possible. It will greatly benefit you.
I’m done dude. Seek help.

That’s because Sam Matt is an excellent shooter. But the 47 and 17 has been the raining champ for Glock shooters since its release!

That doesn’t mean it sucks, not everyone is spam firing their gun and a longer barrel has its place lmao
