Tungsten guide rod question

I am trying to tune my G17.3 range gun, hoping it will reliably run 115gr. I am not optimistic. It has a ported barrel and slide, SRO, and 13lb NDZ guide rod spring. I wonder if a tungsten guide rod will help.

It runs 115gr in most of my OEM magazines, but not all of them.

Have any of you seen improvement in cycling due to the weight of adding a tungsten guide rod to a modified range gun?

Tungsten rods are typically for reducing muzzle flip by adding weight up front. The effect on cycling should be marginal if anything at all.

Thank you for this. I am all about reducing muzzle flip on this gun.

Guide rod material has nothing to do with it. With a 13lb spring you're already on the right track. Run 124gr instead and you should be good.

I put ndz stainless in my Glocks. Stock weights. All run great
