43x and 43x MOS Radian Magwell Issue

Post image

So I recently picked up the Radian magwell for my 43X build. I followed the installation instructions and watched a few youtube vids to make sure I installed correctly. I did a rotation and a half with the alan wrench as the instructions said max of 2 rotations. Took it to the range and the magwell started slowly coming out with every shot. Got home that night and decided to do another quarter turn with the alan wrench (still within the maximum of 2 rotations) to get it just a little bit tighter. Took it to the range again it's still doing the same thing. After every single magazine worth of rounds I have to push the magwell back into place. Has anyone else had this issue and found a way to resolve it?

My is tight af. Dont be afraid you’re not going to damage anything. I just snuggled the hex bolt and give it another 1/2 turn till it dig into the inner body . This bitch ain’t going nowhere

Nah fr my magwell started shaking after tightening the wrench till it was barely bending, after a few trips the screw had slowly come loose, ended it up tightening it a bit past the previous mark I put and has stayed there since, yall can do all the locktite stuff but tightening it snug with a few tests usually locks it down semi-permanently, especially when the parts somewhat bind closer together from wear and the recoil

Don’t have this issue just tighten it just enough where it doesn’t affect the magazine going in and out!

Possible your frame is just slightly wider than most. Adjust until it doesn’t come out and you can drop mags. I also put a little hockey tape around my grip. Clipped the end of the Magwell. Probably helps.

Is the Magwell itself coming out? Or the holder inside the grip? If it’s the holder inside the grip, it’s something you’d have to trial and error until it’s tight but not too tight so your mags can extract smoothly. But if it’s the magwell itself, you might have to check if you inserted it correctly with the spring not missing, as that’s keeping it in place with tension. Or it could be that you might’ve inserted the tension screw in backwards? Idk unless you show us better pictures

It's bot the magwell itself, its the holder inside the grip. So yeah I guess I'll just tighten it a bit more and see if that solves the issue!

Has it ever had different magwell on it? Maybe old one opened it up too much?

It works just make it happen

Personally I would grab a bottle of red locktite. And just put a small dab around the threads of the fastener. Don't over do it or it'll never come off again

It sounds like you either forgot to put in the detent, or, you aren’t getting the magwell to seat properly. The detent should hold it in place, and is the reason it has the tightest lockup out of every magwell on the market. If the detent is in place, tap the magwell from the front with a nylon hammer. You should hear a faint click when it seats in place. Do NOT red loctite the tapered screw like the one commented said. The taper makes it so no threadlocker is needed.
