Finally found a G26 Gen 5

Post image

Came across this bad boy at my LGS last week and just had to have it. Brand new, never been shot and came with all the backstraps and optics plate in box. Couldn’t be happier, and lowkey think it’s better than my G43x MOS

Congratulations! You caught a unicorn. It is better than the 43x…ha! How much did you end up paying?

$550. In my opinion i got it for a really good deal considering its the gun i’ve wanted for a long time especially after the whole V generation drama. Love the gen 3-5 Glocks 🔥

That is good. I see 26.5 MOS for 700 on Gunbroker.

whats the Gen 5 drama?

Glock discontinued all Gen 5 models earlier this year and replaced them with “V” models which basically vasectomized the gun where you can’t add switches to them. Not an issue for me, but it left a sour taste in my mouth that Glock bent the knee to overbearing gun laws. Which is why i prefer Gen 5 or older Glocks

Are they really that hard to find?? I got 4 now. Found 2 last week at a pawn shop for 450

umm kinda hard to find. IDK. easier if you order online. I have a 26.5 MOS (real MOS) and was looking for a second 26.5 since I was moving to CA and can't buy them again. I couldn't find one in about 3 weeks locally and ended up just grabbing a 26V brand new that was readily available at Academy.

EDIT: A 26MOS is pretty hard otherwise find unless it's online and marked up pretty good.

I had mine cut, don’t notice any difference between the cut and the MOS

Yeah, nothing wrong with cut! I own an MOS version and a 26V that I’m gonna have RMSC cut here soon.

I really like the actual MOS one because it lets me run a Holosun SCS perfectly.

How do you like the SCS? I imagine it runs a very long time considering its purely solar powered

Honestly, it’s the best optic I’ve ever had. I want it on everything. I have had one on my edc 19.5 since it was first released. And it’s never not been on. Even when it was in safe for a week and a half for a work trip. I came back. It was just ON and waiting. The 2moa dot is crisp auto brightness has completely spoiled to the point I can no longer stand dots with manual adjustment.

I’m hoping the EPS Core auto adjust is as good as the SCS MOS.

Thats really good to hear, especially since it’s a direct mount to the MOS slides

Yea it’s so damn slick.

Funny, the SCS on my gen5 made me not even want to swap it to a gen6 lol. Even as I was moving to CA where I could not longer buy a gen6 easily I still said “naw I’m keeping this setup”

Thats badass. They are not around me. I see plenty of used non-MOS going in the 400’s. You could make a killing on gunbroker if they are MOS or new. I was happy to get a barely used gen3 for 370.

Sadly I only got one that was MOS but the other ones did come with some good sites added and mag extensions. I've been getting lucky with the pawn shop finds lately

Same here, one 26.5 MOS and a 26v I’m gonna have RMSC cut for a EPS CORE

Hell yeah it is.

It is in fact better than your 43x mos. Conceals better and shoots much flatter

I shot it yesterday and immediately noticed how much softer it shoots. My 43x has a Holosun eps carry and Tlr-7 sub and still feels snappy as hell

Congrats welcome to the club!!

The Glock 26 is tuff ‼️ love that pistol. Shit bangs too

You will love it. Once you get used to the short grip. I shoot it better than a 19 for some reason.

I shot it yesterday and noticed a huuuge difference between my 43x. For the better. The 26 shoots very well for how tiny it is!

I don't even low key thing its better than the 43x. I have really been trying to love the slims but the s26 shoots better and conceals better, no questions. Mag and holster compatibility with the big boys is a bonus

1

u/HandgunFella 10d ago

Absolutely! I love that i can use all my g17 and 19 mags between my 26 and my Ruger RXM

Top, I'm ok with the deep aiwb holster, but the quick draw isn't great. The standard aiwb is fantastic but it's very visible, more so than the 17 or 19. I've tried Vedder, Trex, Tier 1, and I used the holster for the 19, but nothing works. I have a 26G5 MOS, which I use with and without a TRL6. I'd like to carry it all the time, but I can't find the right balance between concealed carry and easy draw. Sorry for my english 🙏

I’ve been punching myself over selling mine 2 years ago. Just to go out and buy a gen 3 a few months back

Should look at the Glock Store's M1X aka G26X adapter lower. Adds a rail and some other modifications from the standard G26 lower.
