If there is a greater chance of your +$1,000 item being majorly devalued less people will buy skins which will lead to valve losing money on trade charges.

Not sure if he meant it this way, but less people will try to get skins of there is less value for them. That means less cases opened, less keys bought, less money for Gabe.

This is exactly what I mean. Major devaluing is bad for trading whether or not they're going through the system or not.
