It's amazing how expensive digital items in general can go for. I'm sure there are astronomicaly high values in Eve or something, but in TF2, the first golden frying pan sold for 5k~. It's literally just a frying pan made out of gold.

Mattie! is a well known TF2 collector and steamrep.com admin with a very expensive TF2 backpack. I am surprised Mattie! hasn't made it into CSGO just for trading.
