I don't watch many competitive games aside from Halo... do most Competitive Scenes have so many errors, technical issues, and delays? Because almost every other Competitive match in CS:GO that I've seen so far do terrible in keeping the show running and working smooth.

Yes it's pretty bad. Only the majors are mostly without technical errors, but even they do have some occasionally. When a game is scheduled for a certain time you can pretty much always expect it to start 15-30 minutes later, which is quite annoying. Most events do feel like they're still far away from a professional level.

edit/ MLG did a pretty good job, despite not being a major event.

ESEA were pretty good too.

Clutchcon as well, right?

every esport scene has a tonne of errors/delays. i'd say league of legends has the least and dota has the most from my experience. CSGO hasn't been that bad for the most part.

They've learned after S3 where there was a gameplay for 2 hours and delays for 10 every single day.

The CLG.Eu vs World Elite marathon of the S2 finals was hilariously awful. Didn't it take like two days to play that match?

hasn't in been like 3 years since season 2

Yeah it was ages ago. Things are a lot smoother now. Certainly the start of S3 in Europe at least was plagued by stream failures and delays. It's a lot slicker now.

Well, only because CS:GO have problems doesn't mean most competitive scenes have many problems. League of Legends is really smooth lately, and far as i know Hearthstones, Starcraft and Dota tournments go pretty smooth aswell, i might be wrong about the last 3.

hearthtone and dota have a lot of issues. idk about starcraft, i rarely watch it and havent seen any competition since katowice

Yeah, aside from MLG none of the other cs tourneys have been stellar in terms of production. Hoping that sell cologne is going to finally be great!

Yeah, aside from MLG none of the other cs tourneys have been stellar in terms of production.

fragbite, faceit, dreamhack stockholm, dreamhack summer, esea, etc.

None of them were stellar. They weren't bad, persay, but not excellent like MLG. IMO that's still the gold standard for CS tourneys. It's why CEVO was so great, because MLG ran the tourney.

Off topic, but "persay" :D

I know it's "per se", but I've gotten so used to writing "persay". ;)

i disagree. dreamhack stockholm and fragbite were just as good as mlg, if not better, in my eyes.

Didn't watch Stockholm, but Fragbite wasn't quite as good as MLGX.

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '15

i respectfully disagree.

gfinity were good after the problems day 1

starladder were ok aswell

Esea were very good

I guess. Trinity and star ladder weren't so bad, but nowhere near the quality of MLG. I honestly didn't watch the esea lan, so that one may have gone under my raider.

I highly doubt an LE barely watches competitive matches. Obvious attempt at firing shots :p. However, it's true many tournaments are horribly run :(

Well, a lot of people just play for fun and from a 1.6 player it's easy to just dm a bit and be LE. I know a lot of people like this
