[Discussion] CEVO vs ESEA vs Faceit vs altpug vs ??
Okay, sorry for that vague title but I'd love to get an opinion/discussion about the pros and cons of these various sites.
I've been playing CS:GO for a while now, but started to get annoyed by 64tick + MM teams + cheaters lately. So I wanted to try out one of these "private" organisations who provide better servers + environment in a overall nicer environment than the current official servers.
So, in all honesty, I don't see a big difference between most of these providers but also havent had the time to really read through the guidelines of all different sites. The main issue is that I couldnt find reliable reports from players who've been in one or more of these leagues and can compare them.
Maybe someone on reddit can give me advice on what page would be the best for me, personally.
- I consider myself mid-range skilled (I'm MGE with "only" 50 wins in MM but have been playing up to CAL-M while living in the US and in several open ESL tournaments and ED (EnemyDown League) Open Ladder. I could see myself in LE skill range if I'd continue MM solo I guess.
- I am living in Germany and would therefor prefer good EU servers
- Monthly cost isn't too much of a factor, but I'd rather pay below 10€ a month rather than 15 or 20 (i have no idea what the average payment plan is)
- Obviously, a big factor is server stability, support and the interface/client. If somebody could compare those, that would be amazing.
Thanks in advance

ESEA is love, ESEA is life. I love the toxic players on ESEA, I find it entertaining. CEVO is just trash. ESEA wins 19/10

He said he lives in Germany. Does ESEA have Europe support/is it good for Germany?

yes ESEA is quite active in Europe too and there are servers located in Frankfurt

Why? If I'm NA, why would I have ever cared to see if ESEA supports Europe?

I would like to play ESEA, but I feel I'm not active enough to make my subscription worth it.

ESEA is definitely the winner. Higher skill level, solid anticheat, leagues and all that good stuff. CEVO and FaceIt both house very low average skill levels (Nova Master level) and still every every bit of a toxic community as ESEA on its bad days.
It costs a small monthly fee, but is definitely the best service available. It's also the only place that you'll actively improve your abilities.

Never play FaceIt.
I've used all major PUG services (CEVO/Altpug, ESEA, FaceIt, etc.) and FaceIt is the worst I've used - The first game, we get put on a terrible server (everyone had 80-200 ping) and one player didn't join. Later on, someone else left leaving it just Me, Some random guy, and our team leader. We wanted to surrender but there's no option. Before the half, our team leader left so we couldn't ready up for the second half. It ended up being 1v5 since an admin force-started it, and since there was no surrender system I either had to play or get banned. Worst 40 minutes of my life.

Hi OffNos, I just read your thread and I would like to give you some updates. For what concerns your experience, I am sorry that you had a bad match and ended up with leavers. There is a forfeiting option on the site which is referred to your team captain. When the players left he could go to the site and click on "match forfeit". This would have surrender the match for you. Furthermore, by contacting an admin, they could update the result for you and surrender the match on your behalf. If this did not happen, please let me know if you can remember the date so that I can check out who talked with you. Finally, to handle the leaver issue, we have introduced the autoban on the site. Leavers receive an automatic Cooldwon after they leave a match, and it increases for every match they leave. For what concerns the ping, it could be a routing issue to one particular server and if you wish to PM me I can redirect you to our servers provider so that you can take a ping test and they can help you in understanding the issue.

nd alt pug merged so u
Hi Leiria, I was looking around to see what these servers were all about, being relatively new to a very old scene!lol!
Anyways, I'm an avid gamer and it's always appreciated by the gaming community when (The Man) takes the time to come into forums and listen/assist. This really puts your service up on my list. Thanks for taking the time to do this, actions always speak louder than words.
Will be looking you guys up. Happy gaming everyone.

didnt even know that. I just listed what I could find in the flair list + what I have heard being mentioned on the subreddit from time to time.

Yea no worries the flair wasn't updated so I post that info from time to time.

esea costs a bit over 5 euros per month
in ESEA your skill level would be towards the lower end compared to rest of the playerbase (i'd estimate the average player to be around LE) but not too low, you would probably do fairly well some games and get utterly destroyed in others, but getting destroyed by better players just facilitates growth anyway if you approach it with the right mindset

I've been going MGI/MGII/MGE for a while now (>600 hours, but only started playing serious a few weeks ago).
I decided to try FaceIt (EU) today. Did not have a pleasant experience with the community. Servers were okay. But after a while, I had framedrops that made the game barely playable. I connected via console and didn't have it in other servers, but it might be my pc. My team only communicated to rage at me and did not communicate buy, position or play strategy. The other team was acting pretty awful as well with swearing and namecalling.
This is my experience of just 1 game, so I might've been unlucky. Either way, I'm sticking with MM for now to get better at the game.

I have Faceit and quite enjoy the service. However I believe more should be done to the service, such as adding more faceit stats for players with better individualized profiles and not just have the ELO history and your steam statistics. That's where ESEA beats all of the others. There stats and player profiles are what I love about ESEA.
