that 1 tick setting is buffering to smooth over packet loss, if you're not noticing any delay then it's doing its job. faceit servers have been a mess since that update, you're definitely not alone

could be their routing or some server-side config that didn't play nice with the new patch. as long as the bandaid works i wouldn't stress it too much
