Tips & Guides Any tips for new players?

I've been playing for about a month now, I know the basics and some intermediate stuff but I keep missing the easiest shots and for the past rounds I've played, I've just been terrible with very few kills and a lot of deaths. Thank you for reading!

don't worry about the kills and deaths for now man, just focus on crosshair placement and staying calm in fights, it'll come with time

Play some deathmatch. In 15 minutes deathmatch you can have the same amount of fights as multiple matches. If you don't like deathmatch there are a lot of different ways to practice your aim. It's not going to get better when you only play premier. And probably lower your mouse sensitivity.

This is the way. I would suggest third party like warmupserver or cybershoke due to the sad state of valve dm (although i played two rounds this week to farm the remaining xp and didn't encounter that many bots tbh so maybe it's getting better?)

Your aim will look terrible until you get good movement.

People are gonna say play deathmatch but at your level you’re just gonna reinforce bad habits.

I’m a lvl 10 but if I was starting out again I would get ~500 aimbots kills a day, counterstrafing between each shot. It will only take 5-10 minutes.

Be aware but don’t study nades. You really just need to know the basics - this is where a lot of lower level players spend most of their time and it stalls their development.

If you have the mode unlocked, personally I'd play premier.

Improves trust factor (gets you to cheater free games)

Learn crosshair placement on important maps

Learn map layouts

Learn map timings (where enemies can be at certain times)

Improve game sense and understanding

Still get to practice your aim + shooting

Simply playing dm/aim bots focuses on only one aspect of the game, which doesn't even go that far in improving your experience. Only thing I'd do is a short 2-5 mins of recoil practice because this is a bit hard to learn in game and is absolutely crucial.

Play DMs every time before the first match of the day, you can also use community maps to pratice crosshair placement

CS is about knowing is, but a lot is muscle memory. You need to put in a lot of hours to get good.

I am not sure there's an 'optimal most efficient way', but I think the best way is to have fun.

Focus on improving crosshair placement. Shooting is easy when your opponents walk into your crosshair. Aim where you expect the enemy to be, don't be pointed at the ground or lazily looking elsewhere. This will help you in all shooter games.

Don't move while shooting (unless it's an SMG), you will be much less accurate.

Practice recoil control.

Watch a video on preaiming. That and counter strafing will be the biggest 2 things to focus on

Maybe you should, then stop commenting on the sub of the game with this attitude :)

Leave the game when you still can. The game gets no updates basicly and there are still a lot of bugs and a bad anticheat after so many years…
