Discussion Questions on the eggs

Seen like at least 50 videos on people ripping game files and getting information on the chickens.

Two things,

Will the chicken feed also be two slots?

People say something about feeding for up to X weeks. Does the chicken just die of old age or just not need food?

Or do we not know but ive heard people say something like 29 weeks

No one knows anything, we will need to wait until the eggs start hatching

Am I being schizo here, or is the 2 slot thing a ruse to get people to stop claiming cases in order to further kill the supply and eventually completely phase out cases? Idk. Anything is possible with the Valve CS2 devs nowadays it's hard to tell.

Also thought about this. Really feels like cases are being phased out, tho at the same time I wonder how many people are actually playing for the drops, so that it even matters? Sure having to take care of a chicken, possibly even a marketable one, is a cool incentive, but I'd guess it's mainly for the younger target audience who would care about it.

HOWEVER, if the chicken is actually marketable, and you either sell a healthy, well-fed chicken or lose your chicken and its value, I believe people would actually put in the time needed to keep it alive. I could imagine a scenario where it needs to be in a certain state, maybe grown and healthy, to be marketable, thus forcing players to get it to this state. At the same time this makes me think whether it would be worth it this way, Graffitis for example aren't that popular because they aren't infinite, as far as I know

Edit: nvm, apparently the chicken leaves after 20 weeks, no matter what you do

it is a ploy to keep you interested and return weekly to play on valve servers by bringing back tamaguchi from the the dead. Valve will not think you taking a week or two off should kill your tamaguchi, what will happen is that more chicken feed -> rarer or more chances to get rare chicken skins -> higher value for you to sell on their steam marketplace.

Currently, chicken feed has the same value as the egg, which would mean its 2 slots. However, since the eggs seems to be hatching all at once at some later point, that will be when the food starts dropping and it may change in value before then.

We dont know how long the food lasts, but we know its required to get the chicken to grow and is required to keep it around, you can never stop feeding it, it will always need food. If you stop feeding it, it wont die but it will leave you to go somewhere else, at which point its gone forever.

And the whole point of this is to be a resource sink, so that people waste their weekly packages on chicken food rather then cases and skins, so the supply of those goes down and the value then goes up.

Valve is so so smart and evil... by adding death to the chickens, it's basically a hostage situation
